Essential Functions:
- Develop a strong understanding of company goals and mission as well as organization's functionality to effectively act as a strategic storyteller conveying the voice, brand, and strategy of SBTC to internal and external audiences via various communication channels and topics.
Communications
- Develop communications with excellent grammar and tone which are consistent with brand guidelines and standard formatting
- Develop and or maintain engagement channels such as website, social media, podcast, newsletters, blog, etc.
- Support timely dissemination of information to multiple audiences. Create and implement communications plans; develop articles, Q&As, talking points, memos, video scripts, videos, infographics, presentations, press releases, social posts and related collateral for multiple channels (website, email, newsletters, social media, etc.)
- Collaborate with multiple partners across various organization functionalities and teams to develop essential communications for various audiences, and as needed will plan and complete special projects to support employee engagement
- Report on campaign results to key partners\ stakeholders
- Assist in performing the day-to-day functions of the communications strategy and other duties as assigned
Marketing / Analytics
- Creation of graphics for organization’s digital, print and social media advertising.
- Ensures consistent presentation of the company brand through digital, print and social media advertising.
- Seeks new forums for company messages and tracks how partners, participants and donors engage / react.
- Determines the best way of reaching donors and supporters. Develops a strategy to maximize social media reach and effectiveness.
- Conducts surveys to evaluate effectiveness.
- Engage with the audience via social media through comments, direct messages, etc.
Proficiencies:
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills with a passion for storytelling
- The ability to multitask effectively to bring projects to a successful closure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to devise innovative ways to communicate, while aligning with goals and objectives
- Ability to determine and track metrics to measure effectiveness of communications plan against intended outcomes and business objectives
- Be flexible, adaptable, and collaborative
- Detail oriented with strong proofreading and editing skill
- A creative and proactive problem solver

Required education or experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree or related coursework in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or related is required
2+ years in a corporate communications, internal communications, or public relations related role preferred.
- Experience with Hootsuite and Canva required
- Experience with DEI Initiatives
- Experience working with non-profit / cause based organizations
- Experience with Wix and Mailchimp preferred
- Google Docs / drive proficiency
- CRM Software Familiarity
Expected hours of work:
- Flexible schedule, some nights and weekends
- Virtual and in-person options available; will be required to attend events, classes, workshops, etc. on an as needed basis.
