The Role As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you play a crucial role in assisting individuals with mental health needs to lead fulfilling lives. You will provide support in daily activities, promote independence, and foster a positive environment for personal growth. Your work will directly contribute to the well-being and recovery of those you serve.


What You'll Do - Provide compassionate support to individuals with mental health challenges in daily living activities. - Assist clients in developing and achieving personal goals, enhancing their independence and self-esteem. - Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and any changes in their mental health status. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized support plans. - Facilitate social and recreational activities that promote community engagement and personal development. - Maintain a safe and supportive environment, ensuring the well-being of all clients. - Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to foster a collaborative approach to care.


What We're Looking For - High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in mental health or related fields is a plus. - Experience working with individuals with mental health challenges or disabilities is preferred. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and team members. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. - Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.


Nice to Have - Certification in CPR and First Aid. - Experience with crisis intervention techniques. - Knowledge of local mental health resources and support services. - Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Salary

$16 - $19 per hour
