Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and testing of software applications: This includes writing code, debugging, and participating in code reviews.
  • Collaborate with team members: Work closely with other engineers, designers, and product managers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Learn and apply new technologies: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and apply them to projects.
  • Document and maintain software functionality: Ensure that all code is well-documented and maintainable.
  • Support the software development lifecycle: Participate in all phases, from planning and design to implementation and maintenance
  • Coerce datasets for Sentinel’s internal usage and reporting

Required Qualifications

  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior studying computer science, software engineering, agricultural engineering, or other related technical discipline.
  • Strong verbal communication, written communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for software engineering through extracurricular project, personal projects, or past internships
  • Dedicated learner capable of quickly digesting new concepts and technologies
  • Diligence in learning and leveraging team and project management software in Microsoft Suite (Teams, OneNote, OneDrive, Planner, etc.)
  • Strong organizational capabilities
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, HTML, SQL

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Angular, Django (geoDjango), REST, PostgreSQL, Docker, PostGIS
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure ecosystem (Azure, DevOps, VS Code, etc.)
  • Experience with geospatial data
  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit who is passionate about our mission.

Compensation, Benefits, and Schedule

Wage: $25/hr

No overtime

Duration: January 2025 – August 2025 (flexible based on needs)

Location: Ithaca, NE
