Position Responsibilities:
· Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and AAC assessments to determine the most appropriate means of AAC for students with communication challenges.
· Design and implement personalized AAC systems, including speech-generating devices, manual communication boards, speech-generating devices and mobile/tablet communication applications.
· Deliver direct AAC and SLP services and consultation.
· Offer training and continuous assistance to clients, families, and clinical teams regarding the use of the student’s AAC device.
· Create meaningful relationships with the AAC system representatives in the area.
· Ensures timely completion of daily treatment notes, initial and annual evaluations, plan of care documents, and other documentation as needed.
· Work closely with a diverse team of professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to fulfilling each student's communication goals.
· Attend all mandatory company orientations, professional development sessions, and ongoing training sessions as required
· Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Requirements:
· Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology with a valid and current SLP license in Florida.
· AAC-related coursework, training or certification verifying AAC Specialist's designation and experience.
· Proven experience in AAC assessment and intervention.
· Proficiency in the use of technology and AAC software.
· Strong understanding of motor learning and language development principles in relation to AAC.
· Valid Florida driver’s license
· Criminal record clearance, or formal exemption
· Experience working with children or clients with special needs, including autism, Down syndrome, and other developmental delays
· Moderate physical effort (lift/carry/push up to 25 lbs), endurance, and mobility to play with children if a part of therapy sessions
