It's a high-variety, catch-all role for an organized, resourceful self-starter who wants broad exposure across sales, enablement, events, and marketing. Base salary is $45K–$55K plus full benefits, and it's positioned as an entry-level launchpad into a sales or marketing career.

About Self Fund Health

Self Fund Health is a Wisconsin startup helping Midwest employers do something radical: buy healthcare instead of health insurance. For companies with 50+ employees, we pair transparent, upfront pricing with a clinical team of Nurse Navigators who guide members to high-value care — bending the cost curve in a state that ranks among the highest in the country for healthcare costs. We're a small, fast-moving team where everyone has a real hand in rebuilding the health plan from the ground up, and where the work directly lowers costs for local businesses while improving care for the people who count on them.

Description

About Self Fund Health

Self Fund Health partners with mid-market employers to operate self-funded health plans that deliver better care, lower costs, and a simpler experience for plan members. We combine direct primary care, a curated network of high-value providers, transparent pharmacy pricing, and nurse-led care coordination — all wrapped in a coordinated benefit plan that pays $0 when members follow the guided path.

Position Summary

The Sales Support Coordinator keeps the sales engine running behind the scenes. This is the role where you learn how a company grows by doing the work, not watching from the sidelines. You’ll touch nearly every part of how we win new business: one week running point on an employer event, the next pulling together a proposal that wins a new client, the next tightening the CRM and systems that make the whole sales team faster.

This is a catch-all sales support role for someone who loves variety and hates being boxed into one lane. Most entry-level jobs hand you a narrow slice; this one hands you the whole map. It’s a launchpad with broad exposure across sales, sales enablement, events, and marketing that sets you up for a growing career in sales or marketing. When we win, you’ll see your fingerprints on it.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Enablement & RFPs

·     Support broker and advisor relationships: send materials, keep broker and agency records current in the CRM, coordinate broker meetings, and help onboard new broker agencies (including appointment paperwork)

·     Manage RFP intake: receive incoming broker submissions, run the completeness check, and chase down missing inputs (census, plan documents, current rates, claims) so underwriting can start — handling sensitive census and health data securely and in line with privacy requirements

·     Prepare RFP and proposal responses: work with teammates to gather what’s needed, manage deadlines, and deliver client-ready materials for the sales team to present

·     Maintain sales collateral, client-facing materials, and the content library so the team always has current, on-brand assets

·     Support the sales team as they prepare to meet with employer groups: put together presentation and call materials ahead of meetings, then track and coordinate next steps afterward

·     Manage CRM data and documentation: create, update, and audit customer accounts, contacts, and sales pipelines; keep the sales team on track with next steps and priorities; and keep process guides, field definitions, and workflows current so the whole team uses the CRM consistently

·     Follow the documented steps of the sales life cycle, keeping deals moving through each stage and flagging what needs attention

·     Track sales activity and project status, and keep documentation organized and up to date

Events, Marketing & Team Support

·     Coordinate events: conferences, webinars, and client events including logistics and vendors and then assist on-site and with follow-up

·     Support marketing campaigns: schedule and send emails, schedule social posts, coordinate print material orders, and build and maintain prospect and customer lists

·     Execute and help refine repeatable processes as we scale

·     Take on ad-hoc projects and requests as they come across the business

What Success Looks Like

·     Proposals and RFPs go out on time and polished, and help win new business

·     Sales decks and sales collateral stay current, consistent, and on-brand

·     CRM data is clean, current, and trusted by the whole team

·     Events run smoothly end-to-end, with follow-up that actually closes the loop

Preferred Qualifications

·     1–2 years of experience in sales support, marketing coordination, event planning, or admin (a plus — but if you’re organized, curious, and hungry to learn, we want to hear from you)

·     Experience in healthcare, employee benefits, or insurance

·     Hands-on experience with a CRM, email marketing platform, or event coordination

Skills and Competencies

·     Self-starter. You see what needs to happen, prioritize, and move — without waiting to be told.

·     Organized. You manage timelines, follow-ups, and competing priorities without dropping things, even when the volume spikes.

·     Resourceful. When there’s no playbook, you figure it out. You find another way when the standard answer doesn’t fit.

·     Clear communicator. You produce polished, confident, client-ready materials — and you write like a person, not a template.

·     Owner mindset. You take responsibility for the whole task and see it through, coordinating across sales, marketing, and the wider team to keep everything moving in the same direction.

·     Adaptable. You’re energized by an evolving startup — comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and helping build the playbook as you go.

·     Coachable. You want the feedback, and you act on it.

Compensation and Benefits

·     Base salary: $45,000 – $55,000, commensurate with experience

·     Health benefits: Coverage under Self Fund Health’s own plan — the kind we help other companies deliver — including direct primary care access at no cost

·     Retirement: 401(k) plan (employer match not currently offered)

·     Paid time off: Unlimited PTO, with a 20-day minimum you’re actually expected to take

·     Professional development: Broad exposure across sales, events, and marketing. A launchpad, with support, to grow in the direction you choose
