The Director of Transition Operations is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations and staff ensuring operational excellence while building the infrastructure needed to support rapid growth. This role is ideal for a hands-on operational leader who thrives in a small-business environment, can balance people management with process improvement, and is comfortable scaling systems, teams, and performance. The Director of Transition Operations works closely with the Owner/CEO to translate strategic goals into operational execution while maintaining Segues’ reputation for empathy, professionalism, and high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring consistent service delivery across all locations
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational systems, workflows, and procedures
  • Ensure operational efficiency, quality control, and compliance with company policies
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to scheduling, productivity, service quality, and profitability

People & Team Management

  • Directly oversee managers, team leads, and field staff
  • Establish strong working relationships with leadership team to ensure effective working relationships and seamless implementation of operational improvements
  • Support scalable staffing models to support growth
  • Lead hiring and performance management in partnership with leadership
  • Foster a culture of accountability, compassion, and professionalism aligned with Segues’ mission
  • Address employee relations issues and support team development

Growth & Scaling

  • Prepare operations for growth by building repeatable, documented systems
  • Identify operational gaps or bottlenecks and implement practical solutions
  • Support expansion into new service areas, territories, or service offerings
  • Collaborate with the Owner/CEO on operational planning and execution

Financial & Business Oversight

  • Manage operational budgets, labor efficiency, and scheduling effectiveness
  • Monitor costs, margins, and operational performance
  • Align operational decisions with financial goals and business priorities
  • Support implementation of operational discipline as the company scales

Client Experience & Brand Standards

  • Ensure a consistently high-quality, compassionate client experience
  • Address escalated client concerns or service issues as needed
  • Protect and strengthen Segues’ reputation statewide



Qualifications

Required

  • 7+  years of operations leadership experience in a service-based or people-driven business
  • Experience managing teams of 20+ employees across multiple locations or regions
  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable
  • Demonstrated ability to improve or build operational systems
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working directly with clients to support service delivery; packing, un-packing, set-up and residential clearing including physical elements of these responsibilities, lifting (up to 25lbs repeatedly, bending, twisting, reaching and stairs.)

Preferred

  • Experience in senior services, relocation, healthcare-adjacent, or home services industries
  • Experience supporting growth in a small or mid-sized business
  • Background in operations, HR, or general management
  • Experience developing SOPs, training systems, and performance metrics
