This role is predominantly a customer service-oriented role with an emphasis on attention to detail, data entry, customer service and thorough ID verification. Unlike typical retail, our industry is heavily regulated, therefore our customer service team must be detailed oriented workers who display a passion for making our industry a success! Not only are they expected to provide excellent service every day, but they must keep in mind all the commitments they made to the State of Colorado, the City of Denver, and the company to conduct themselves within the confines of the rules regulating our industry. The budtender role is considered a highly important role in the cannabis industry regarding compliance, knowledge, and customer care. The Budtender gives the first impression for our customer base, meaning the importance of the required professionalism and level of customer service cannot be overstated. We expect and need our team to project positivity, fun, and excitement to our customers every chance they get. Our team needs to be articulate, positive teammates with passion for the industry, tech-savvy, and work well under pressure.

Required Availability: Open Availability

(ten hour shifts, four days a week)

WEEKEND AVAILABILTY REQUIRED (BOTH SUNDAY & SATURDAY)


Reports To: Store Manager

 

Position Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to): 

  • Ensure that only persons over the age of 21 come into the facility past the front desk. Tourists, shoppers, visitors, contractors, etc.
  • Maintain a visitor's log accurately for all non-employee individuals entering the facility.
  • Come to work dressed professionally, fully alert and ready to communicate our specials and deals to the public.
  • Answer phones assisting customers with questions and concerns using proper and professional phone etiquette. Taking messages for managers/directors/CEOs and ensuring the communication gets to the right people.
  • Update all digital menus and engage our digital menu sites to the fullest every day. Keep them up to date and accurate throughout the day.
  • Knowledge of all pricing for products carried on both Medical and Recreational menus.
  • Filing, scanning, printing, typing, shredding documents as needed.
  • Signing over members, filling out all required paperwork and uploading into the Point of Sale system, METRC, or any required software. 
  • Maintaining a clean and organized store front, as well as general housekeeping duties.
  • Prioritize customer service above all by maintaining a friendly/welcoming environment and providing a wonderful experience for each customer.
  • Ability to accurately and knowledgably outline the specifics of different cannabis products including cannabinoids, terpenes, pricing/deals and brand
  • Assisting the leadership team by intaking or restocking products when needed. 
  • Communicate with staff about all daily deals, specials, as well as any expiring product that needs to be sold soon.  
  • Ensure inventory is being stocked and sold properly (barcodes scanned on each item) and report any discrepancies or mistakes as they come up.
  • Ensure compliance by doing regular check ins with Budtenders as the ring, assist customers, check in visitors, add/remove patients from METRC, upload sales, label new product, etc.
  • Help maintain the filing for manifests/invoices, patient files, closing documents, etc. 
  • Ensuring the compliant completion of all opening and closing duties


Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Follow the guidelines and expectations set forth by the Employee Guidelines and SOP’s
  • Work all scheduled shifts and follow attendance policy expectation
  • Be available for holidays and weekend shifts as needed
  • Ability to use advanced features of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive and Outlook
  • Must possess strong sales ability, high-level problem solving, communication and organizational skills, anticipatory thinking, calculating, attention to details, conflict resolution, teamwork, and professionalism, accountability, and proactive attitude
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks efficiently and ask for help when needed.  
  • Must follow detailed instructions, as well as work independently using critical thinking and problem-solving.

  • Must have an MED Badge issued by the State of Colorado

Compensation & Benefits:    

  • Compensation Range: $19.00/hr - $19.50/hr (depending on experience)
