Job Title: Repair Tech- Tier 1
Salary: $17.00/Hour
Location: Fortville, IN
Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday-Friday, 40 hrs/week
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair iPads and Chromebooks (including but not limited to swapping out screens, keyboards, bezels, and motherboards)
- Ensure all repairs are completed within quality and efficiency standards
- Report part usage and associated prices for each repair to support inventory management
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace
- Support other Operations functions as needed based on seasonal demands (including Processing, Fulfillment, Inventory, and Value-Add)
Basic Qualifications:
- Demonstrated pattern of curiosity and hands-on problem-solving (this could include professional experience or personal projects such as disassembling/reassembling appliances, vehicles, electronics, or machinery to understand how they work)
- Precision, accuracy, and efficiency in detail-oriented work
- Effective communication across cross-functional teams
- Receptiveness to feedback and dedication to continuous improvement
- Independent and collaborative work style, adaptable to both solo tasks and team environments
- Flexibility to support other Operations functions based on seasonal demands
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience repairing devices such as Chromebooks and Apple products
- Soldering experience
Essential Functions and Work Environment
- Stationary position: Ability to remain seated at a workstation/computer constantly throughout the workday
- Manual dexterity: Ability to handle small parts, tools, and a computer keyboard with precision
- Visual acuity: Ability to identify small components, read fine print/labels, and view a computer screen constantly throughout the workday
- Equipment operation: Ability to operate handheld scanning equipment
- Material handling: Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 40 lbs
- Positioning & reach: Ability to occasionally reach overhead, crouch, or kneel to access equipment, parts, or storage areas
- Environment & safety: Ability to work in an open office environment with individual workstations, low ambient noise, and controlled temperature; follow PPE protocols as applicable
When flexed into other Operations functions (Processing, Cleaning, Shipping, Fulfillment, or Value-Add), employees may be required to meet the following additional physical demands and work environment conditions:
- Stationary position: Ability to remain standing frequently throughout the workday
- Manual dexterity: Ability to perform repetitive fine motor tasks using hand tools and precision instruments
- Visual acuity: Ability to inspect components and packaging, and read labels and documentation
- Equipment operation: Ability to operate warehouse material handling equipment (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks) and computer/warehouse management systems
- Material handling: Ability to occasionally move or transport items up to 50+ lbs
- Positioning & reach: Ability to move throughout office, warehouse, loading dock, or production areas frequently, and to bend, reach, or climb ladders/step stools as needed
- Environment & safety: Ability to work in fast-paced settings with seasonal workload fluctuations, variable temperatures, and ambient noise; follow PPE and chemical handling safety protocols as applicable to the assigned function
