Part Time Clinic Assistant
Seattle Massage Sauna and Float (formerly Seattle Massage Pro) is looking for a Clinic Assistant at our wellness clinic/spa in Madison Valley, Seattle.
Clinic Assistants are in charge of checking clients in, answering phones, managing the appointment schedule, maintaining the float room and sauna, general cleaning of the facility, keeping up with laundry, and providing an overall excellent client experience. Our brand focuses on customizing each session to the client, and that carries over not just with the massages, but with the entire experience of entering our space. From making tea, to setting the sauna temp the way they like it and leaving out as many towels as they asked for. Many of our clients are regular so a neighborly relationship with a warm and caring team is crucial to develop and maintain that consistently regular client base.
Strong customer service skills and ability to form friendly connections with the clients to make them feel welcomed and a part of the community are an absolute must. We also need someone with very clear and professional communication skills to be able to work with the rest of the team and transfer information timely and clearly to keep the place running smoothly. This person needs to be very comfortable with talking to the clients, getting to know them while they wait for their appointments and inquiring about their day, as well as remembering the details of their visits, and be able to smooth over any differences of opinion of they arise.
This clinic is really dependent on the person in this position being extremely reliable, motivated, and professional, since they will be running the clinic on their own while the therapists massage, and won't have a direct manager supervising them at each shift. Therefore, there needs to be a lot of common sense problem solving. And the ability to roll up the sleeves and do the little nitty gritty things that need done to maintain a professional space, even if it's not a glamorous activity, such as cleaning the windows or cleaning up a random mess that spilled on the sidewalk that was not created by us but looks terrible for our clients to have to pass by.
A strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork are extremely important to the flow of the entire clinic, since we're small and rely on one another.
The job is quiet, laid back, and you can set your own pace for the shift based on what needs accomplished with the schedule. It's very peaceful and relaxing-- a little refuge in a stressful world, yet steady and at times requires a moderately swift pace, but not hectic. The team is fun and supportive and are all very nice people to be around. If you're bored on the job, you're not doing it right. But also, if you're stressed out by schedules and conversations and keeping up with laundry, it's not the right fit for you. Students will be considered, but the shifts are set and rarely change, so a changing student schedule can be a challenge to work around with the other team members having their schedules already set and steady to their lives.
Hours Needed:
Approximately 8-20 hours per week. We're primarily looking for evening and weekend and fill-in shifts. The shifts are typically between 5 and 8.5 hours, with 30 minute breaks on the longer shifts. Shifts shorter than 5 hours are not a deal breaker, but it's honestly more challenging to get all the tasks accomplished and kept up on in a shorter time frame.
