The Bartender within the SEA Crab House should be enthusiastic, demonstrate genuine hospitality, and an ability to provide an excellent guest experience for our guests in both the dining room and the bar. Exceptional Bartender’s will be able to create classic and innovative cocktails to fit the needs of each individual guest. This position requires extensive knowledge of liquor, mixed drinks, beer, and wine. The Bartender is responsible for maintaining the bar area and filling drink orders for restaurant and bar patrons in a timely fashion with excellent attention to detail. Through their attitude, attentiveness and demeanor, the Bartender ensures that each and every guest’s experience is pleasant and consistent with guest expectations being met or exceeded.
Description
- Ability and willingness to be an excellent server is a must in addition to bartending duties
- Mixing, garnishing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to company specifications for guests at the bar and those dining in the restaurant
- Mixing beverages using an extensive range of ingredients including liquor, bitters, soda, water, sugar, and fruits
- Mix all drinks based on the standard serving sizes, keeping drink consistent
- Mixing ingredients to prepare ahead for frequently ordered cocktails
- Slicing, pitting, and preparing garnishes for drinks
- Planning and promoting drink specials to use excess inventory as needed
- Create exciting drinks for current holidays and events
- Assessing customers need and make recommendations based on their specific preferences
- Assisting guests in choosing menu items and what drinks would pair well with their orders
- Develop an efficient work pace that keeps the customers at the bar and in the dining room satisfied at all times
- Communicate with servers to make sure the guests experience in the dining room is excellent
- Keeping the bar stocked and clean while always providing friendly and attentive service
- Organize the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory
- Adhering to company standards for serving alcoholic beverages, OLCC regulations, and food service standards
- Checking customers valid identification
- Making sure customers ordering alcohol are not intoxicated and refusing to serve alcohol to intoxicated individuals
- Ensuring the behavior of bar patrons are not inappropriate for a family establishment
- Assist in ensuring patrons always have a safe ride home, calling a taxi or Uber when appropriate
Experience Requirements:
- Resume and proven working experience as a Bartender
- Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks with extreme attention to detail
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked, cleaned, and communicate all relevant training certificates
- Ability to multitask
- 2 + years’ experience working as a Bartender is preferred
- Must be able to lift 20 lb boxes and stand for at least an 8 hour shift
- Strong customer service, great memory, and interpersonal communication skills are required
Salary
$16.5 - $16.5 per hour
