Retail Crew – Scout Outpost

Location: Lincoln City Outlet Mall, Lincoln City, OR

Employment Type: Part-Time / Full-Time

Compensation: $17–$19/hour, depending on experience and availability

Schedule: Flexible; includes weekends, evenings, and holidays

Scout Outpost is looking for a friendly, dependable person to join our retail crew.

You do not need to know everything about firearms, fishing, hunting, camping, or outdoor gear.

Seriously.

We can teach you the products.

What matters much more to us is that you enjoy working with people, are comfortable greeting customers, can learn to run a cash register, and are willing to jump in and help keep the store running smoothly.

If you have strong customer-service skills and a good attitude, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

This role is primarily focused on the front end of the store and helping create a great experience for customers.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Welcoming customers when they walk through the door
• Running the point-of-sale system and accurately processing purchases
• Helping customers find products or connecting them with the right team member
• Answering basic customer questions
• Keeping the checkout area and sales floor clean and organized
• Restocking merchandise and helping maintain displays
• Answering phones
• Assisting with returns and exchanges
• Helping receive and organize merchandise
• Learning about our products, promotions, and store policies
• Pitching in wherever needed as part of the Scout Outpost crew

What We're Looking For

We're less concerned about what you already know about outdoor products and more interested in how you work with people.

A strong candidate will:

• Be friendly and approachable
• Enjoy talking with customers
• Be dependable and show up when scheduled
• Be comfortable learning a POS/register system
• Communicate well with customers and coworkers
• Be willing to learn about the products we sell
• Notice when something needs to be done and take initiative
• Work well as part of a team
• Be able to stand and walk for extended periods
• Be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Be available for weekends, evenings, and some holidays

Previous retail or customer-service experience is helpful, but it isn't required for the right person.
