Scout Northwest is looking for a friendly, dependable person to join our retail crew.

We can teach you our products.

What matters much more to us is that you enjoy working with people, are comfortable greeting customers, can learn to run a cash register, and are willing to jump in and help keep the store running smoothly.

If you have strong customer-service skills, a good attitude, and like being part of a fun team, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

This role is focused on helping create a welcoming, fun, and easy shopping experience for customers.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Welcoming customers when they walk through the door
• Running the point-of-sale system and accurately processing purchases
• Helping customers find products, sizes, gifts, or merchandise
• Answering basic customer questions
• Keeping the checkout area and sales floor clean and organized
• Restocking apparel, gifts, and merchandise
• Helping maintain displays and product presentation
• Answering phones
• Helping receive and organize merchandise
• Learning about our products, promotions, and store policies
• Helping customers understand our axe throwing options
• Assisting with basic axe throwing check-in and customer flow as needed
• Pitching in wherever needed as part of the Scout Northwest crew

• Be comfortable learning a POS/register system
• Communicate well with customers and coworkers
• Be willing to learn about the products and experiences we offer
• Notice when something needs to be done and take initiative
• Work well as part of a team
• Be comfortable in a busy retail environment
• Be able to stand and walk for extended periods
• Be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Be available for weekends, evenings, and some holidays

Previous retail or customer-service experience is helpful, but it isn't required for the right person.

Don't Know Much About Retail or Axe Throwing?

That's okay.

Product knowledge and axe throwing basics can be taught.

We're looking for someone who can make people feel welcome, provide great customer service, and help keep the retail side of the store moving.

Some customers know exactly what they want. Others are tourists wandering through the mall, looking for a gift, checking out local products, or deciding to try axe throwing for the first time.

We want every customer to feel comfortable and have a good experience at Scout Northwest.

Scout Northwest Trading Co. is a locally owned lifestyle retail store at the Lincoln City Outlets.

We carry a mix of apparel, local goods, gifts, outdoor-inspired products, and Pacific Northwest merchandise. We also offer axe throwing, making Scout Northwest a little different from your typical retail store.
