Position Overview

Saylor seeks an experienced leader in social & content strategy, with excellent planning, writing and research skills. The ideal candidate will be creative, innovative, and data/strategy-driven, with a passion for all-things social media.


The Sr. Strategist should have a proven track record of planning and leading strategies for RFPs and Campaigns. This person will be responsible for leading and executing social content strategies for a dedicated entertainment client – delegating as needed but also willing to hop in and brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, write scripts and copy.


Additionally, they will lead all aspects of social media management beyond copywriting; this includes publishing, monitoring trends, community management, and reporting on content performance to optimize the strategy. 


The Sr. Strategist will manage team members and interface directly with clients, so this candidate must be both a true player and leader, with the skills to delegate and approve work as needed. 


Location and Salary

This is a full-time, exempt role with a salary range of $100k-$110k, depending on experience. We offer employees the flexibility to work from home Monday through Friday. We believe that allowing you to choose the environment where you work best will enhance your productivity and impact. 


There will be occasions when in-office presence, at either our Echo Park HQ or a client’s office, is required based on the needs of specific accounts. We will do our best to accommodate scheduling and still provide you with your “flex days.”


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the social content strategy, which includes overseeing project-specific teams and ensuring all content is on brand/on strategy
  • Write original copy and edit content for a range of marketing and communications materials
  • Collaborate with a team of account managers/coordinators and creative staff, from concept development to delivery of final product
  • Pitch concepts, copy, and final deliverables to internal team members and external partners
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of social editorial calendars for assigned project, and be able to assist junior team members when needed
  • Publish content across all social platforms; and report on said content via tools like native insights, Sprinklr, Dash Hudson, and Sprout
  • Present strategies in-person and/or via video chat to clients
  • Revise copy based on internal and client feedback
  • Interpret creative briefs to develop concepts for pitch decks and ongoing retainers
  • Research and understand a client’s needs and target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, platform analytics, audience sentiment analysis, etc.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of key industry trends, social platform updates, and entertainment projects to inform creative strategy
  • Foster positive relationships with your roster of clients – including problem solving when needed
  • Take ownership and responsibility for quality control and accuracy when it comes to posting for your team’s campaign


Minimum Requirements:

  • 6+ years of professional social media management and content creation experience on the brand and/or agency side, with solid portfolio of work
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial-type environment
  • Exceptional writing and research skills
  • Ability to work independently or with a team to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability
  • Demonstrated experience developing a brand voice/strategy and building social audiences
  • Deep knowledge of social media best practices and current trends
  • Demonstrated analytical skills 
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including experience presenting to clients 
  • Experience overseeing projects from inception to completion

  • Experience interfacing with and managing influencer campaigns
  • Interest in helping to build an agency from the ground up
  • A great sense of humor!
