Position Overview:

As the Head of Strategy at Saylor, you will be the visionary leader responsible for shaping and driving strategies that inform the agency's campaigns. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee the entire strategy function, ensuring that all client engagements are anchored in forward-thinking, innovative, and impactful strategies that exceed client KPIs. You will partner with senior leaders across creative, production, and account management to ensure cross-functional alignment, while also spearheading thought leadership initiatives that position Saylor as a first-class agency.

In this senior leadership role, you will be tasked with delivering exceptional results for Saylor’s clients while also forecasting future market opportunities and guiding our long-term strategic vision. The ideal candidate will possess well-rounded experience in digital marketing, encompassing organic, paid, and influencer marketing, and be confident in speaking to each of these key pillars. You will influence decision-making at the highest levels, ensuring the strategy team remains agile in a rapidly evolving marketing landscape, and consistently driving forward innovative solutions that reflect a deep understanding of all facets of modern marketing.


Location and Salary

This is a full-time, exempt role with a salary range of $155,000-$200,000 depending on experience. We offer employees the flexibility to work from home Monday through Friday. We believe that allowing you to choose the environment where you work best will enhance your productivity and impact.


There will be occasions when in-office presence, at either our Echo Park HQ or a client’s office, is required based on the needs of specific accounts. We will do our best to accommodate scheduling and still provide you with your “flex days.”


Responsibilities:

  • Establish and refine the strategic vision for Saylor’s clients, ensuring that all campaigns/projects are aligned with client objectives and the most impactful market opportunities. Drive the development of innovative solutions to complex client challenges.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to influence overall business direction, contributing to both short-term growth and long-term strategic planning for the agency.
  • Serve as the senior-most point of contact for key clients, delivering high-level strategic counsel and ensuring that all client engagements are grounded in strong, results-driven strategies. 
  • Foster relationships with executives at client organizations to elevate Saylor’s position as a trusted strategic partner.
  • Anticipate and interpret industry trends, emerging technologies, and market shifts to position Saylor as a thought leader in creative marketing. 
  • Build and scale a high-performing strategy team, nurturing top-tier talent and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous growth. 
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring ongoing professional development and alignment with the agency’s evolving goals.
  • Work closely with leaders across creative, production, and account teams to ensure strategic cohesion from concept through execution, encouraging a seamless integration of strategic thinking into all aspects of client deliverables.
  • Develop and implement frameworks for leveraging data and analytics to drive strategic recommendations and measure performance. 
  • Ensure all strategic initiatives are backed by insights, with clear KPIs and performance metrics to assess impact.
  • Identify new business opportunities and lead strategic pitches to drive agency growth.
  • Partner with the business development team to craft compelling narratives and strategic approaches that resonate with prospective clients.


Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in marketing, brand strategy, or digital strategy, with a minimum of 7 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large teams and multi-million-dollar client portfolios.
  • Proven experience leading successful integrated campaigns, including organic social media, paid media, and influencer strategies.
  • Strong expertise in translating business objectives into actionable, insight-driven strategies that achieve measurable results.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams, with a demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, and grow top talent.
  • Exceptional executive presence, with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders and provide clear, decisive leadership.
  • Deep understanding of the evolving marketing landscape, with a passion for innovation, creativity, and strategic foresight.
  • Data-savvy, with experience in leveraging analytics and insights to drive strategy and measure success.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with a track record of winning client trust and leading high-impact strategies.
