Description

Sayit Inc. is hiring a part-time Clinical Fellow to complete the ASHA Clinical Fellowship and the Connecticut Supervised Professional Experience (SPE) under the supervision of a Connecticut-licensed, ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist.

This is a growth position. The Clinical Fellow starts with an initial caseload and builds it over time as clinical skills develop and as referrals allow. Weekly hours will vary, particularly in the early months, and are not guaranteed. Candidates who need a fixed schedule or a guaranteed minimum number of hours should not apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy to an assigned and growing caseload of mixed (Pediatric and Adult) clients
  • Conduct screenings and assessments as assigned and as permitted under supervision
  • Develop and maintain treatment plans, session documentation, and progress reports in EMR Platform within required timelines
  • Attend all scheduled supervision sessions, including direct on-site observation
  • Communicate professionally with clients, families, caregivers, and outside providers
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all company privacy policies
  • Maintain current Clinical Fellowship and SPE documentation
  • Participate in caseload development activities as directed

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program, conferred prior to start date
  • Completion of all graduate practicum requirements
  • Connecticut Department of Public Health temporary approval number for Supervised Professional Experience, issued prior to first client contact
  • Praxis examination in Speech-Language Pathology passed, or scheduled prior to start date
  • Availability of at least 15 hours per week (see Scheduling and Hours below)
  • Reliable transportation to assigned locations
  • Successful completion of background check and required health documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practicum or coursework in articulation / language / AAC / feeding / early intervention
  • Prior experience in an outpatient or private practice setting

Supervision Provided

Supervision meets both ASHA Clinical Fellowship and Connecticut SPE requirements. Scheduling and Hours

This position is part-time and hourly. Hours are driven by caseload volume and are not guaranteed. The Clinical Fellow is expected to be available for a minimum of 15 hours per week in order to accrue creditable SPE hours.

Applicants should understand the following before applying:

Connecticut requires a minimum of 48 weeks and 1,440 hours of part-time supervised professional experience, at a minimum of 15 hours per week. Weeks in which fewer than 15 hours are worked do not count toward the Connecticut hour requirement. Because caseload is built over time and hours are not guaranteed, the length of the fellowship will depend on how quickly the caseload grows and cannot be projected in advance.

Sayit will track creditable hours and review progress with the Clinical Fellow on a regular basis so that the fellow always knows where they stand relative to Connecticut and ASHA requirements.

Benefits

  • Professional liability coverage under the company policy
  • Paid sick leave in accordance with Connecticut law
  • This position does not include health insurance benefits

Employment Terms

Employment is at will. Completion of the Clinical Fellowship does not guarantee an offer of continued employment, though Sayit intends to consider fellows for open licensed positions as they become available.

Sayit Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.

Salary

$40 - $50 per hour
