Position Summary:

The Machine Operator Level 1 at Santa Lucia Manufacturing will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and operating Lather and Mill CNC machinery to ensure efficient production processes. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the production team to ensure seamless workflow and high-quality output.

This role reports to: Production Manager

Job Responsibilities:

• Set Up Machines: Calibrate, clean, and prepare machines to start a production cycle.
• Control and Adjust Settings: Monitor and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed) to ensure proper operation.
• Feed Materials: Load raw materials or parts into semi-automated machines.
• Inspect Parts: Use precision measuring tools to inspect parts for accuracy and quality.
• Perform Tests: Periodically test machine operations to ensure efficiency.
• Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and resolve any issues that occur during the shift.
• Maintain Records: Keep accurate logs of machine activity and output.
• Safety Protocols: Follow all safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience as a machine operator for CNC Lather and/or Mill is required - References will be checked. 
• Skills: Proficiency with hand tools and precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers). Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Attributes: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree or additional training in machine operation is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (+50 lbs).
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Work Environment:

The shop is generally open 9am-6pm M-F, but hours can shift as appropriate for the role. The shop environment can fluctuate seasonally and may involve exposure to machining noises and other industrial conditions.

Total Rewards:

• Compensation: $27-$33 per hour - Full-Time
• Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrue 80 hours per year after 90-day intro period.
• Sick Leave: 40 hours of paid sick leave per year after 90-day intro period.
