SamCart Sales Representative, SMB Remote · Full time Company website

Most sales jobs want a closer who can push. We want one who can listen. SamCart is hiring a Sales Representative, SMB to run consultative discovery calls with creators and coaches investing in their own businesses — high volume, short cycles, and a real bar for selling honest. Remote in the US, 90-day fixed-term with a path to permanent.

About SamCart

SamCart builds, runs, and scales your online business. Where most platforms hand creators more work — more pages to build, more tech to figure out — our platform does the work for them, leveraging AI to guide them through best practices and strategies we have seen across thousands of creators. That’s not just how our product works. It’s how we work. SamCart operates on an AI-first model — Claude is embedded into how we plan, build, and ship across every team, from initiative scoping to release documentation. This isn’t a pilot. It’s how we run the business today. We believe our customers’ success is our success — and we take that seriously. It’s how we think about our customers, and it’s how we think about our people.

Description

Sales Representative, SMB

Remote · Full time (90-day fixed term, with path to permanent) · Sales

About This Engagement

This is a 90-day fixed-term role. You will be employed directly by SamCart as a W-2 employee for a defined initial term of approximately 90 days from your start date.

We are scaling our SMB sales motion to reach any creator getting started in their journey

who is ready to invest in their business. This is a high-volume closing role: you’ll be expected to run multiple closes per week, often in just one or two calls, while helping us sharpen the pipeline and playbook. Strong performance may open a conversation about converting to a permanent, full-time role — with our full benefits package — but conversion is not guaranteed and depends on business need at the end of the term.

Employment with SamCart is at-will. The 90-day term describes the expected duration of the engagement, not a guarantee of employment for any specific period, and either you or SamCart may end the relationship at any time.

If you want a role where the scoreboard is clear, the timeline is short, and your results speak for themselves, this is a great fit.

The Role

We are looking to grow our sales team by adding a highly motivated Sales Representative focused on our SMB segment. Our flagship program is where SamCart goes beyond software — it’s the coaching, curriculum, and community that teaches creators how to actually build, launch, and scale a digital product business. When a creator wins with our program, they win on SamCart. The two grow together.

This is a role on a small and growing team, not a gear-in-the-machine position. You’ll own the high-velocity end of the SMB funnel: solo creators, coaches, and small teams who have an audience and an idea, but not yet a repeatable business. You’ll take inbound calls from Marketing, run consultative discovery, and enroll the right prospects into the right program. Deal sizes are in the thousands, volume is high, cycles are short, and follow-up is where the deals get won.

Here’s the part that matters most, and the part most sales reps get wrong: our SMB buyers are often investing their own money in a personal dream, sometimes at a vulnerable moment in their lives. They are career-changers, coaches, and first-time creators, not procurement teams.

We sell honest. The fastest way to lose here, and the fastest way to drive refunds and lost trust, is to pressure someone into a program they were never a fit for. The best closers on this team win by listening harder than everyone else and telling the truth, even when the truth is “not yet.”

How You’ll Sell

This role has a specific style, and it is not a transactional phone job. It looks like this:

  • Listen more than you talk. Discovery calls run about 45 minutes. You let the creator tell you their real situation before you recommend anything. You ask better questions than most people, and you actually hear the answers.
  • Lead with empathy. You meet fear, self-doubt, and money stress with genuine reassurance, not a script and a countdown timer. You build trust first, because trust is what converts and what keeps the sale from coming back as a refund.
  • Diagnose, then prescribe. You map the creator’s funnel and goals out loud with them, show them what’s possible, and recommend the right program — or tell them honestly when the timing isn’t right and rebook.
  • Close on the call or the follow-up. Many deals close live; the rest are won through rigorous, high-cadence follow-up. You’re comfortable walking a buyer through payment options and processing an enrollment on the call.
  • Disqualify kindly. You protect the buyer and the business by walking away from prospects who aren’t ready or aren’t a fit — and you do it in a way that leaves the door open.

Responsibilities

  • Drive growth through high-volume, fast-paced sales, owning the full cycle from discovery to close
  • Conduct 45-minute consultative calls with inbound leads from Marketing — webinars, challenges, and launch campaigns — exceeding close rate targets
  • Run discovery that diagnoses a creator’s real situation, with real active listening, before recommending a program
  • Call target lists and work outbound into unconverted and lapsed leads to build and keep pipeline full between launches
  • Manage rigorous, high-cadence follow-up across phone, SMS, and email — most SMB deals are won in the follow-up, not the first call
  • Answer and resolve buyer obstacles around price, timing, and self-doubt with empathy, and disqualify prospects who aren’t ready or aren’t a fit
  • Walk buyers through payment options and process enrollments cleanly and accurately
  • Become a SamCart product and program expert — know the curriculum, the coaching model, and the customer outcomes cold
  • Use HubSpot and our sales tools to accurately track and share progress and performance toward goals
  • Deliver weekly reporting on leads, conversions, and closed won / closed lost rates
  • Hand off enrolled students cleanly to the coaching and program teams so the onboarding experience holds up
  • Provide ongoing product, offer, and messaging feedback to Marketing and the product team
  • Build the playbooks, call frameworks, and objection libraries for a segment that doesn’t have them yet

What Success Looks Like

  • Days 1–14: Program and product certification complete, calls shadowed, HubSpot and tooling habits established, taking live calls.
  • Days 15–45: Running a full independent call load, hitting ramped targets, building your own pipeline and follow-up system from scratch.
  • Days 46–90: Consistently at or above full target with accurate forecasting, plus a documented point of view on what this segment needs next.

Qualifications

  • A consultative closer with real emotional intelligence — you win by listening, building trust, and telling the truth, not by pressure. You can sell to someone spending their own money on a personal goal and leave them better off either way.
  • An experienced closer — 2–4 years of top performance in a quota-carrying sales role at a high-volume SaaS, eCommerce, coaching, or education company
  • A track record you can talk about in numbers — quota, attainment, close rate, cycle length
  • Able to ramp fast and available to start on short notice; you’ve stepped into a new product and been productive inside two weeks before
  • Comfort with high call volume and short cycles; you’re energized rather than drained by a full calendar
  • Strong consultative discovery skills — you ask better questions than most people, and you actually listen to the answers
  • Real resilience with rejection, and the emotional steadiness to hold space for a buyer’s fear and self-doubt without steamrolling it
  • Comfortable running the money conversation — presenting payment options and closing enrollments live on a call
  • That rare balance of competitive and collaborative — you’re here to crush your number while helping lay the groundwork for the growth of the team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience using HubSpot to manage deals
  • Knowledge of tools like iClosed (scheduling & routing), Aloware (dialer / SMS), Metabase (reporting), Google Workspace, and Slack — or the ability to pick them up fast
  • Tech-savvy, adaptable, and comfortable with frequent functionality updates — and genuinely excited to use AI tools in your day-to-day
  • Self-driven and proactive nature, a comfort with ambiguity
  • A positive contribution to our growing team — energetic, enthusiastic, and ready to make an impact
  • Bonus points if you’ve lived it: built an audience, sold a digital product, or sold coaching, courses, or masterminds before

Our Core Values

  • Play to Win. We play offense every single day. Unshaken by bigger companies, we see them as proof of what’s possible. We adapt, innovate, and outthink them.
  • Take Risks, Embrace Failure. Fear doesn’t paralyze us. Standing still does. We take risks and embrace failure because it’s the quickest path to success.
  • Complexity is the Enemy. We keep it simple and stay lean in everything we do: our teams, projects, product, and strategies. We double down on what works, perfecting the few things we do best.
  • Ahead of the Curve. Always. We combine intuition, experience, and data to drive breakthrough ideas. We stay curious, spot trends early, and know our customers, market, and business better than anyone.
  • The Customer is Everything. We treat their business like it’s our own. Their wins are our wins. Their goals are our goals.
  • Work with Purpose, Live with Balance. Work is important, but it’s not everything. Our greatest wins happen when we bring our best to work, without sacrificing what matters most: our families, friends, and personal growth.
