What You'll Do
Lead Imaging Operations
- Oversee daily imaging operations, patient flow, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate imaging services to maximize efficiency while maintaining exceptional patient care.
- Ensure imaging studies meet Sage Veterinary Imaging quality standards prior to interpretation.
- Partner with veterinarians and radiologists to support outstanding diagnostic outcomes.
- Monitor operational performance and implement improvements that enhance efficiency and patient experience.
Develop & Lead the Team
- Recruit, onboard, mentor, and develop imaging technicians and support staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Conduct coaching, performance feedback, and competency development.
- Support technician career progression and continuing education.
- Build an engaged, high-performing team committed to clinical excellence.
Advance Clinical Quality
- Maintain the highest standards for imaging quality, anesthesia, patient safety, and procedural consistency.
- Partner with clinical leadership to enhance imaging protocols, quality assurance initiatives, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, radiation safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Promote consistency across all imaging services and workflows.
Manage Equipment & Resources
- Oversee the readiness, maintenance, and performance of advanced imaging equipment.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and vendor service activities.
- Monitor imaging supplies, inventory, and operational readiness.
- Partner with leadership to support future technology and equipment initiatives.
Support Practice Growth
- Build and strengthen relationships with referring veterinarians and specialty partners.
- Participate in educational programs, outreach initiatives, and referral development.
- Help identify opportunities to enhance the client experience and expand imaging services.
- Support new service lines and cross-site collaboration across Sage Veterinary Imaging.
Partner with Leadership
- Collaborate with the Hospital Manager, Practice Site DVMs, Imaging Director, and Operations Leadership to achieve organizational goals.
- Support KPI initiatives, workflow optimization, staffing strategies, and operational planning.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives that strengthen the organization and improve patient care.
- Help drive innovation and continuous improvement across imaging services.
Lead from the Front
While serving as a department leader, you'll remain actively engaged in patient care by supporting the clinical team as needed.
Responsibilities may include:
- Performing advanced imaging procedures.
- Supporting anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
- Assisting with patient preparation and care.
- Providing clinical guidance during complex imaging cases.
- Modeling the highest standards of patient care and professionalism.

Qualifications
Required
- Licensed or Registered Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, CVT), or equivalent credential where applicable.
- Three (3) or more years of veterinary medicine experience.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team development experience.
- Experience supporting advanced diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Strong anesthesia knowledge or the ability to develop advanced proficiency through training.
- Working knowledge of CT, MRI, ultrasound, radiography, and advanced imaging workflows.
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative leadership style with a commitment to exceptional patient care and continuous improvement.
Preferred
- Experience in a specialty referral or advanced diagnostic imaging practice.
- Experience managing advanced imaging equipment and imaging operations.
- Experience developing SOPs, competency programs, or technical training.
- Experience using operational metrics and KPIs to improve performance.
- Passion for mentorship, continuing education, and professional development.
