About the Role
We are recruiting Independent Training Consultants to deliver the Safe & Together™ Model CORE Training and related offerings, both virtually and in person at our clients' offices. You will join a dynamic, mission-driven community of practitioners delivering impactful training to cross-sector professionals. This contracted position offers competitive compensation for experienced trainers with backgrounds in social work, human services, domestic violence, child protection, education/teaching, and related fields who are committed to transforming systems to become more domestic abuse-informed through the Safe & Together Model. Be your own boss, most of our Training Consultations work other full-time jobs in the industry, or have left frontline jobs to care for family or build a business, and can supplement their income with this meaningful work as their schedules allow.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Safe & Together™ training in alignment with the Institute’s standards and materials.
- Facilitate engaging online and in-person training with confidence and professionalism.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of model updates and practices.
- Represent the Institute’s mission, values, and commitment to diversity and equity.
- Report training outcomes and address issues promptly
- Attend required meetings and professional development sessions
- Embed intersectional approaches, ensuring accessibility for all communities
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in domestic violence, child protection, family services, family courts, or related sectors
- Current, active certification as a Safe & Together Trainer OR willingness to complete the self-paced CORE (prerequisite) and twelve-week LIVE REMOTE Certified Trainer program (4 hours weekly) beginning on Wednesday, 3 September 2025. The training and certification fee is waived for our consultants upon hire.
- Minimum 3 years delivering professional training to adult learners
- Experience facilitating groups ranging from 15-100 participants with the proven ability to adapt training content for diverse audiences and learning styles
- Ability to travel for in-person training delivery with a minimum 4 days of availability monthly or 50 days annually for training
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and maintain professional verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
- Thorough understanding of domestic violence dynamics and evidence-based interventions
- Reliable internet connection and professional home office setup
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, or related field
- Experience training multidisciplinary audiences (social workers, law enforcement, legal professionals, healthcare workers)
- Direct practice experience working with survivors of domestic violence and/or perpetrators
- Experience in systems change, policy development, or program implementation
- Competency with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Google Suite, or similar software
- Experience with both in-person and virtual training delivery
- Knowledge of English child welfare systems, family court processes, and Local Safeguarding Children Partnerships (LSCPs)
- Understanding of English domestic abuse legislation, including the Domestic Abuse Act 2021
- Experience with 1st Nation community participation and partnership is highly desirable

Working Arrangements

Contract Type: Independent contractor, project-based assignments

Schedule: Flexible, based on training demand and availability

Work Availability: Training assignments are not guaranteed. Work is contingent on client demand, geographic needs, quality of training, and consultant availability

Training Period: CORE training and Train the Trainer certification are prerequisites for hire- we do not compensate for hours spent becoming certified, but enrollment fees are at no cost for selected non-certified candidates

Travel: Required (expenses covered per contract terms)
- This is an independent contractor position under UK/English law; contractors are not employees under Employment Rights Act 1996 or related legislation
- Contractors are responsible for their own income tax and National Insurance contributions through Self Assessment
- UTR (Unique Taxpayer Reference) number required for tax purposes
- Contractors must register for VAT if required
- No employee benefits, statutory sick pay, holiday pay, pension contributions, or employment rights provided
- Contractors responsible for their own professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance if required
- All intellectual property and training materials remain property of Safe & Together Institute
Equipment and Business Expenses
- Contractors responsible for providing their own equipment and home office setup (except as specified for travel expenses)
- Business-related expenses beyond covered travel costs are contractor's responsibility
- Reliable internet connection and professional workspace required at contractor's expense
