Key Responsibilities:

Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals' behavioral needs, including functional behavioral assessments (FBAs), to identify factors that contribute to behaviors of concern.

Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans that are tailored to each person's needs, preferences, and goals.

Data Collection & Analysis: Collect and analyze behavioral data to evaluate the effectiveness of intervention strategies, ensuring the plans are improving the individual's behavior and quality of life.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams (e.g., case managers, therapists, educators) to coordinate and implement behavior support plans across all environments.

Family Education: Provide training and support to family members and caregivers, helping them understand the behavior intervention strategies and how to apply them in everyday settings.

Staff Training: Train and support direct care staff in the implementation of behavior intervention plans and effective behavior management techniques.

Crisis Intervention: Provide guidance and intervention during behavioral crises, using de-escalation techniques and ensuring safety for the individual and others involved.

Prevention Strategies: Implement proactive strategies to prevent challenging behaviors, emphasizing positive reinforcement, skill-building, and environmental modifications.

Progress Monitoring: Track and report on the individual’s progress toward behavior goals, regularly assessing and adjusting plans as needed.

Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of assessments, intervention plans, progress reports, and any incidents related to behaviors. Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

Feedback & Improvement: Seek feedback from staff, families, and individuals to continually improve behavior support strategies and enhance the effectiveness of interventions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field.
- Certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or eligible to obtain certification (preferred).
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, particularly in the area of behavior management and intervention.
- Knowledge of behavior analysis principles, including conducting functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) and developing behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and families.
- Ability to train and coach staff in behavior management techniques and interventions.
- Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to behavior interventions.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
