Our comprehensive suite of services for government agencies and nonprofits encompasses community economic development, strategic planning, evaluation, and small business capacity support. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team on a part-time basis. As the Part-Time Policy Associate/Fellow, you will play a key role in building and executing our policy priorities. The ideal candidate is passionate about advancing economic opportunity and social justice and can adequately deliver on the duties listed below.


Policy Research and Analysis

  • Develop RYSE's policy strategy, alongside the Founder/CEO
  • Lead research and analysis of policy data related to RYSE's priorities
  • Monitor legislative developments and provide timely updates to the Founder/CEO, advisors, and other team members
  • Analyze and interpret policy data to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to RYSE's priorities
  • Effectively communicate complex data through visual aids, such as charts, graphs, and infographics, to enhance understanding and accessibility
  • Stay informed about emerging policy trends, adapting communication strategies accordingly
  • Other duties as assigned by the Founder/CEO


  • Develop blog posts, briefs, memos, reports, presentations, and white papers on policy issues and best practices relevant to RYSE priorities
  • Present summaries of proposed legislation and assess potential impacts on current policies
  • Organize and participate in meetings to facilitate dialogue on RYSE-relevant policy issues with key stakeholders


  • Attend and participate in team meetings, sharing insights and contributing to the overall policy development process
  • Assist in the management and development of the RYSE summer interns
  • Work collaboratively with team members, providing clear and effective communication to ensure alignment on RYSE's policy strategy

  • Proactively identify challenges and propose effective solutions
  • Contribute innovative ideas to enhance RYSE priorities
  • Explore unconventional approach and out-of-the-box thinking to address complex, evolving issues


  • Passion for economic justice in at least one of the following key sectors: Capital, Climate, Education, Health, Housing, Workforce
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field or commensurate lived experience
  • Experience interpreting and re-purposing research and best practices for policy recommendations in a timely and effective manner
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong customer-service orientation and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively work with the Founder/CEO, advisors, and other team members
  • Strong policy research and analysis methods
  • Strong policy analytical skills (qualitative and/or quantitative)

Salary range: $15,000 - $25,000 per year
