Rushmore Group LLC Construction Site Supervisor Oakhurst, NJ · Full time

Rushmore Construction Group is looking for an experienced, hands-on Site Supervisor to be the boots-on-the-ground presence across our active residential job sites. This is a field-first role — you’ll spend the majority of your time on site, working directly with subcontractors to make sure work is being done right, to code, and on schedule. You won’t be managing budgets or client relationships — that’s the PM’s job. Your job is to know construction inside and out, hold the line on quality and compliance, and make sure every trade that comes through is executing to the plans and to Rushmore’s standards.

About Rushmore Group LLC

Rushmore Construction Group is a custom luxury home builder based in Monmouth County, NJ, with a growing portfolio of active projects and a reputation built on doing things right from the ground up. We handle every phase of the residential construction process: land acquisition, pre-construction planning, design coordination, build, and long-term homeowner care. Our clients aren't buying a floor plan off a shelf; they're building the home they've always wanted, and our job is to make that happen seamlessly. We're a founder-led company, which means the people making decisions are in the building every day, not three layers removed in a corporate org chart. For someone early in their career, that matters. You won't spend your first two years pushing paper in a support role waiting for a slot to open up. You'll be in the field, working directly with experienced project managers and site supervisors, learning how a high-end custom build actually comes together from excavation to handover. If you want to understand the full lifecycle of residential construction, not just one phase of a production process, Rushmore is where that happens. We're growing fast, we're nimble, and we're building the kind of team that makes careers.

Description

What You’ll Do

Site Oversight & Quality Control

  • Serve as the primary on-site presence across multiple active residential construction projects
  • Monitor subcontractor work daily to ensure it meets plans, specs, and Rushmore’s quality standards
  • Verify that the correct materials, fasteners, and methods are being used at every stage — down to the details
  • Conduct quality control walkthroughs before work advances to the next trade
  • Identify deficiencies early and work with subs to resolve them before they become bigger problems

Plans & Code Compliance

  • Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specs
  • Translate plan requirements into clear on-site direction for subcontractors
  • Ensure all work complies with current NJ residential building codes and inspection requirements
  • Coordinate with inspectors as needed and flag any compliance issues to the PM

Subcontractor Coordination

  • Confirm subcontractor arrival dates and sequencing in alignment with the master schedule
  • Maintain a clear understanding of each subcontractor’s contracted scope and flag any attempts to upsell, expand scope, or substitute materials outside of what was agreed — escalating to the PM when needed
  • Hold trades accountable for scope, timeline, and workmanship while on site
  • Communicate issues, delays, or scope conflicts to the PM promptly

Punch Lists & Closeout

  • Maintain and execute rolling punch lists throughout the build
  • Ensure punch list items are completed in a timely manner ahead of each phase transition and final closeout
  • Prepare site for handover in coordination with the PM

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in residential construction — you’ve worked in the field and know how a house goes together
  • Strong working knowledge of NJ residential building codes and construction best practices
  • Ability to read a full set of construction drawings and translate them to on-site execution
  • Detail-oriented — you notice when something’s wrong before it gets covered up
  • Street-smart about the trades — you know the games subs can play and you don’t get taken advantage of on site
  • Strong communicator who can hold subcontractors accountable without burning relationships
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (role requires travel between active job sites)
  • Someone who takes pride in doing things the right way — not just the fast way

Compensation & Benefits

  • 65-80k + performance bonus, commensurate with experience
  • Mileage and gas reimbursement
  • PTO

Salary

$65,000 - $80,000 per year
