As a General Laborer in our steel modular manufacturing company, you will be a key contributor to the production process, specializing in various tasks such as operating lifts, using hand tools, and demonstrating proficiency with equipment like grinders, band saws, and chop saws. Your attention to detail will be crucial for paint preparation, ensuring the highest quality standards in the manufacturing of steel modular structures.

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven General Laborer to join our team and help us with the production of modular units for our client base.
- Full-time, hourly employment
- Monday - Friday | could be required to work weekends/nights as hours may be subject to change based on business needs
- Reports to the Steel, and Finish lead where applicable
- Work will be performed in a warehouse environment
- Safely operate Forklifts/Cranes to move and position materials within the manufacturing facility.
- Follow proper procedures for loading and unloading materials using the lift.
Grinding and Cutting:
- Utilize grinders for cutting, smoothing, and preparing steel surfaces according to project specifications.
- Operate a band saw and chop saw for precision cutting of steel materials.
- Required to pay meticulous attention to detail during paint preparation, including cleaning, sanding, and masking, to ensure a smooth and high-quality finish.
- Collaborate with the paint team to achieve project-specific paint requirements.
Lifting and Material Handling:
- Lift and move steel materials weighing up to 50-75 lbs, adhering to proper lifting techniques.
- Collaborate with team members to organize and maintain an efficient workflow.
Hand Tools Expertise:
- Demonstrate proficiency in using a variety of hand tools, including tape measures, squares, and chalk lines.
- Read and interpret measurements accurately using a tape measure to a 1/16” of an inch.
- Conduct visual inspections of materials and finished products to identify and address any defects or irregularities.
- Follow quality control processes to maintain high standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly to the supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with team members, including welders, assemblers, and supervisors, to ensure seamless production processes.
- Communicate effectively to address any issues or challenges that may arise during the manufacturing process.
- Must know metal differentiation with types, gauges, and sizes.
- Experience: Previous experience operating lifts, grinders, band saws, and chop saws in a manufacturing or construction setting is highly preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in the use of hand tools, with a keen eye for detail in paint preparation and finishing.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and move heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Safety Conscious: Strict adherence to safety protocols and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential safety hazards.
- Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with steel materials, band saw operation, and chop saw operation.
