Description

Key Responsibilities:

ALC tours:

o  Organizing and coordinating base-wide tours, including itineraries and transportation, for distinguished visits (i.e., Congressional staff, USCG Flag Officers, DHS Staff, other governmental agencies, etc.).

o  Conduct weekly tours (or when scheduled) for newly hired employees, visitors, and others as directed by the Command.

o  Leading specialized tours of ALC for visiting groups (i.e., civic organizations, government representatives, schools, and other designated groups).

Guest Escort and Itineraries

o  Greeting arriving aircraft.

o  Arranging for transportation for visitors.

o  Escorting guests throughout the base complex.

o  Managing and coordinating visitor itineraries.

Command Briefings, Meetings and Conference Rooms:

o  Setting up and operating audio/visual equipment for meetings.

o  Managing and coordinating the schedule for the Commanding Officer’s Conference Rooms, including operating equipment, updating metric boards, and handling related tasks.

o  Attending designated meetings as directed by the CG-AIR Command, recording minutes, and publishing them.

o  Maintaining and updating weekly briefing materials.

o  Keeping the Command Brief (ALC101) current and accurate.

o  Regularly attend meetings as required.

Ceremonies, Social Functions, and Events at CG-AIR (or other USCG domains as needed)

o  Planning and managing ceremonies, including retirements, promotions, awards, and other events. This includes handling invitations, scripts, speeches, and programs as needed.

o  Providing support on protocol matters, particularly with invitations, scripts, and programs.

o  Organizing and assisting in hosting social functions for the Wardroom (Officers).

o  Coordinating the recognition program for Enlisted Person of the Quarter, working with USCG Public Affairs, and local media.

o  Assisting the CG-AIR Commanding Officer’s Secretary.

o  Assisting with other ALC and Command Administrative duties.


Qualifications:

·        Minimum Qualifications

o  Be citizens of the U.S.

o  Possess the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.

o  Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

o  Possess knowledge and ability to perform simple arithmetic.

o  Possess knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

o  Possess excellent ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.

o  Possess ability to work with minimal Government oversight.

o  Obtain the Military/DoW Protocol Specialist certification within twelve (12) months of hire. Proof of certification must be submitted upon completion.

o  Two (2) years’ experience of protocol and event planning. This includes applying protocol and etiquette to organize events, coordinate ceremonies, and manage receptions, while considering the status of dignitaries, military and civilian representatives, and high-ranking officials.

 

Highly Desirable Qualifications

o  One (1) year experience in USCG procedures to include proficiency in using:

  • Aviation Logistics Management Information System (ALMIS)
  • Asset Maintenance Management Information System (AMMIS)
