Rocket Park is a 100% remote web development agency specializing in creating innovative web applications and solutions for our clients. We're looking for a motivated Technical Documentation Intern to help us bridge the gap between our development team's expertise and our users' needs through clear, comprehensive documentation.
Position Overview
We're seeking 1-2 Technical Documentation Interns to join our team for a 12-16 week paid internship. You'll work directly with our development team to create and maintain documentation for our web applications and Craft CMS projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain real-world experience in technical writing while working with cutting-edge web technologies.
This is a fully remote position with flexible hours designed to accommodate your academic schedule.
What You'll Do
- Write and maintain user guides, API documentation, and technical specifications for web applications
- Create client-facing documentation including FAQs, help articles, and getting-started guides
- Document internal development processes, workflows, and best practices
- Collaborate with developers to understand technical requirements and translate them into clear documentation
- Review and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Organize and structure documentation repositories for easy navigation
- Assist in creating video tutorials or visual aids when needed
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to documentation strategy discussions
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate (within 12 months) of a Bachelor's program in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or related field
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills for remote work
- Basic understanding of web technologies
- Proficiency with documentation tools (Google Docs, Microsoft Office, or similar)
- Portfolio or writing samples demonstrating technical or explanatory writing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Markdown or other documentation markup languages
- Familiarity with content management systems, especially Craft CMS
- Previous internship or project experience in technical writing
- Understanding of API documentation or developer documentation
