Media Content Producer for STEM education company
About Us:
Robolink is an edtech company that’s leading the charge for drones meant for the education space and for K-12 drone competitions. Our mission is to make STEM engaging and accessible through building tools for hands-on learning and equipping teachers with the resources to teach with these tools. Our flagship product, the CoDrone EDU, is the official drone used in the Aerial Drone Competition, the largest drone competition in K-12.
Robolink is experiencing a period of exciting growth. At the moment, our educational content is filmed and produced by a combination of various team members and past video content producers. We are in a place now where we’d like to centralize and create our content all in-house and establish more consistency and cohesiveness to our brand, especially in our video content. We’re looking for a San Diego-based Media Content Producer to join our team and take ownership of all video content and motion graphics. From video lessons for students and teachers to explainer videos for school and district leaders, your work will help both our education and marketing teams succeed.
Role Overview:
The ideal candidate is someone who is well-versed in the end-to-end creation of video production, and knows how to create engaging, informative, and educational video content. Specifically, you should feel comfortable with filming and editing the video, but also possess strong storyboarding and writing skills to create scripts for educational videos that are easy for teachers and students to utilize in the classroom. You should also have at least some experience in animation and graphic design, in order to create assets for the videos, as well as assist the Education team in generating visuals for lessons. Preferably, you have some experience working in education settings and are familiar with the unique challenges education content presents.
This role involves a high level of collaboration with our education, engineering and marketing teams to storyboard, write scripts, film, edit, and animate video content, so you should possess strong communication skills. You should have a strong sense of how to manage multiple projects happening in parallel. Additionally, you’ll coordinate with local schools to film classroom footage, capturing real-world use of our drones in action. You should be comfortable getting authentic and dynamic reactions from children. Your ability to organize, communicate, and schedule out photo and video shoots with schools will be crucial.
