Half process engineer. Half artist. The trick with this position will be your ability to intake complex business requirements and translate them into an intuitive step-by-step experience for the end user. All in an industry where you likely have no experience. That is a tall order, but we’ve got your back. The User Experience Designer is a key member of the team who will collaborate closely with Product Management, Software Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success team members to support risk3sixty’s rapid growth and the evolution of the Phalanx GRC platform. The User Experience Designer must be a self-starter, demonstrate a proven track record of grit, versatility, professionalism, and willingness to take on any duties that support the growth of the organization.

Core Responsibilities 

We're looking for junior undergraduates' degree or second year non-M.B. A master student to work directly with our internal team, providing consulting services designed to drive towards business and technology solutions. You will work on next-generation, cutting-edge products and services that deliver outstanding value to our professionals in this rapidly changing environment. 

 

UI/UX Design and Engineering (~ 60%) 

  • Primarily responsible for UX design process, but will also work with others to facilitate the UX research and engineering efforts 
  • Work closely with Product Management, Software Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success to define and deliver product requirements and designs 
  • Create artifacts, prototypes, and specifications that allow developers to implement new features quickly and efficiently 
  • Iterate interaction designs based on feedback 
  • Define UI/UX elite fundamentals (patterns, best practices, and guidelines) 

 

Quality Assurance and Testing (~ 10%) 

  • Assist in the execution of automated and manual testing of the application. 
  • Track UI/UX related bugs and feature enhancements. 

 

Product Support, Documentation, and Tactical Work (~ 10%) 

  • Prepare status reports on UI/UX activities. 
  • Support clients during implementation of the product and identify improvement opportunities as issues arise. 
  • Work with customers or departments on usability issues. 

 

Training, Planning, and Thought Leadership (~ 10%) 

  • Perform product training for internal team members and customers. 
  • Create technical documentation/materials. 
  • Create training materials or thought leadership in support of risk3sixty’s product goals. 

 

Learning and Development (~ 10%) 

  • Prepare and achieve certification(s) of industry standard programs based on desire and need. 
  • Formal or self-driven learning and development activities to keep your skills sharp. 


Education and Experience 

  • Junior year of your undergraduate degree or second year of your masters with discipline in design, human-computer interaction (HCI) 
  • Strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques 
  • Experience in a highly Agile/scrum environment 
  • Experience developing low and high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes 
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing 
  • Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills 
  • Experience working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs 
  • A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions 
  • Experience with a variety of design and prototyping tools such as Figma (preferred), Sketch, Zeplin, UXPin, Illustrator, Hype, Axure, and Keynote 
  • Ability to meet strict, often aggressive, deadlines, navigating a matrix organization environment and considering cross-functional team needs 

 

Physical Requirements  

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift to 10 pounds at times.
