This is a unique opportunity for an IT Administrator who is enthusiastic about transitioning into the field of cybersecurity, specifically penetration testing. The candidate will spend 50% of their time managing, maintaining, and improving our IT infrastructure. The other 50% of their time will be spent training to become a skilled penetration tester. This full-time salaried position is a demanding hybrid role that provides multi-faceted IT administrative support for the firm. As the IT Administrator, you will be troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues, managing our network infrastructure, provisioning endpoints, and working with vendors to ensure our IT systems are up to date. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and a thorough understanding of information technology, including hardware, software, and networking.

Description

Core Responsibilities

IT Administration (50%):

·        Maintain and manage IT infrastructure, including network performance and security

·        Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals

·        Provide technical support and resolve IT-related issues for employees.

·        Manage user accounts, access rights, and security settings

·        Ensure the availability of network resources and services

·        Research and recommend new IT technologies and solutions


Penetration Tester Training (50%):

·        Participate in comprehensive training programs for penetration testing and cybersecurity.

·        Develop the skills to execute the following types of penetration tests on time and within budget:  

·        Internal/External Network: Locate vulnerabilities and weaknesses within networked infrastructure and assist clients in mitigating threats 

·        Web Application/API: Help clients secure their applications and prevent data breaches by enumerating and exploiting web applications 

·        Cloud: Assist organizations with penetration testing of new security landscapes within AWS, GCP, Azure, and private cloud environments 


Qualifications

·        3+ years of IT support experience (Tier I and II)

·        2+ years IT administration experience, with a focus in managing and troubleshooting Microsoft Office 365 environments

·        Strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Azure AD, Endpoint Manager, and Compliance, and Defender

·        Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for Office 365 administration

·        Familiarity with Kandji and/or JAMF endpoint management

·        Proficient in Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems

·        Knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP

·        Experience installing, configuring, and managing network hardware, including routers, switches, and wireless access points

·        Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, particularly as they relate to cloud-based environments

·        Eagerness to learn and transition into the field of penetration testing

·        Experience prioritizing multiple projects within a fast-paced team environment which requires strong communication skills

·        Exemplify a positive attitude and strong work ethic with a commitment to teamwork and professionalism

·        Penetration testing training or experience is preferred

·        Must provide minimum authorization to work in the United States


Physical Requirements

·        Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

·        Occasionally work at heights and from ladders

·        Reach and stretch to place heavy objects into position

·        Manipulate small wires and objects with hands

·        Regularly lift up to 49 pounds at times
