We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Mental Health Therapy Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience and mentorship in a supportive and dynamic environment. Under the supervision of licensed professionals, interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable clinical skills, knowledge, and practical experience in the field of mental health therapy (specific to private practice)
Responsibilities:
•Observe therapy sessions virtually and in person.
•Observe and participate in group/workshops.
Obtain one on one supervision throughout duration of internship
•Assist as needed with childcare room during group.
•Complete trainings and webinars
•Assist Office Manager in clerical task such as, answering phones, filing, verifying insurance, claims, entering new clients in the system, scheduling ect.
•Help collaborate putting together and participating in community outreach/tabling events.
•Find resources and partnerships within the community.
•Accurately document indirect hours for any notes, research, peer journal reviews, filing, chart noting done.
•Accurately document direct hours for any supervisions, observations, groups, clerical task or community outreach/tabling events attended.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Interest in pursuing a career in mental health therapy or counseling.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with clients.
• Excellent communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in mental health practice.
• Willingness to adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain client confidentiality.
