Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Toddler Teacher to join our team at Rippleton Center, located in Cazenovia, NY. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children in our care, ages 18months- 3 years old. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, strong leadership skills, and the ability to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: PIan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs and interests of the children, incorporating educational activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment. Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures to maintain order among the children.
- Child Supervision: Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care at all times. Monitor children's progress and adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each child.
- Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns. Conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor assistant teachers and support staff within the classroom. Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and any incidents. Prepare reports as required by the Executive Director or regulatory bodies.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices in early childhood education. Attend training sessions and workshops as required to maintain and enhance your skills.
- Compliance: Ensure that all classroom activities and procedures comply with New York State daycare licensing regulations and Rippleton Center policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: G.E.D. required, Associates degree a plus, Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
- Certification: Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential certificate required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.

- Strong knowledge of early childhood development and best practices in early education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement creative and engaging lesson plans.
