The Senior Accountant (Manager in Training) will act as the key member of the accounting team at Right Choice & will play a pivotal role in overall company growth. This role is a great mix of high-level accounting and high-level communication. You'll be responsible for ensuring that your assigned clients are getting the Right Choice treatment. This can be summarized as ensuring that the day-to-day and monthly accounting needs are met while delivering exceptional client service. You’ll be the key liaison between your assigned clients and the internal Right Choice team. The person hired for this role will have a fast-tracked opportunity to develop into the accounting manager with more increased strategic oversight and leadership responsibilities.


Current Role: Key Responsibilities

Team Support

  • Attend team meetings and provide accounting/client updates.
  • Oversee client tasks, ensuring proper delegation and on-time completion by team members.
  • As we grow - Train and mentor interns, junior accountants, and staff accountants to foster growth and technical skill development.


Client Management

  • Manage client accounts, ensuring projects are on track and completed on time.
  • Participate in client meetings and check-ins, providing financial insights and updates.
  • Send weekly client check-in emails to maintain clear communication and rapport.


Accounting Tasks

  • Perform weekly bookkeeping reviews using systems like Keeper and QuickBooks online, ensuring clean and consistent categorizations.
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with deadlines and accuracy.
  • Manage ongoing client requests, ensuring best-in-class service and communication
  • Execute month-end adjustments, reviews, and closing tasks to produce accurate financial reports.
  • Finalize and upload financial reports for client review.


Future Responsibilities: Growth into Management

As you grow within the role, we will support your development into a managerial position with increased strategic oversight and leadership responsibilities.


Team Leadership

  • Take on a leadership role, overseeing both internal accounting teams and external client-facing teams.
  • Lead hiring and onboarding efforts as the department expands.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics (KPIs) to evaluate team success and efficiency.


Process and Strategy

  • Standardize and optimize accounting workflows, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency.
  • Participate in strategic planning with the leadership team to enhance the department’s offerings.
  • Take full ownership of the accounting department, ensuring smooth operations without day-to-day involvement from the CEO.


Client Strategy

  • Serve as the strategic advisor for key clients, helping them achieve their financial goals.
  • Provide higher-level insights into financial trends, tax-saving opportunities, and long-term planning.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or master’s level in business.
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of G/L accounting and reconciliations.
  • Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and adjustments.
  • Experience using QuickBooks Online (or comparable accounting software).
  • Experience communicating directly with clients and solving client issues.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems.
  • Strong interest in innovation and process creation—we love new ideas!
  • Must reside in the northern Atlanta or Gwinnett County area (Hybrid role).
  • Extra points for CPA or CPA candidates.

 Your Work Schedule

Let's be honest—who really needs an 8-hour workday? Not us! Even on our in-office days, when the work is done - so are you! We have role-specific "core hours" where we need you to be responsive to the team and clients, but no clock-watching. If you're done for the day, go enjoy your life! Complete that project at 4 PM or 8 PM — who cares? As long as you're available during our core hours, the work is done, and the deadlines are met, we're good. Just be sure to show up on time to the scheduled meetings.

Compensation

  • Salary: This role offers a competitive starting salary between $80,000 and $90,000, with room for growth as you take on more responsibilities.
  • Probationary Period: There is a 90-day probationary period to assess performance, cultural fit, and alignment with company goals, with opportunities for feedback and development throughout.
