Duty Description

As an Onsite Radiologist at the VA Medical Center, you will deliver comprehensive diagnostic and interventional imaging services directly to Veterans. This position requires hands-on clinical expertise across multiple radiology subspecialties, including real-time consultations, supervision of trainees, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support timely and accurate patient diagnoses.

Primary Responsibilities

• Interpret and report imaging studies including:
• X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Interventional Radiology
• 
  
• Participate in image-guided procedures and post-procedure follow-ups
• Conduct patient consults and collaborate with referring providers
• Educate and supervise radiology residents and health profession trainees
• Ensure accurate and timely EHR documentation using VA systems
• Attend quality improvement meetings, tumor boards, and peer reviews

Qualifications

Required:

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Radiology Residency
• Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
• Unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
• DEA Registration
• National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)

Preferred:

• Fellowship training in one or more subspecialties (e.g., Interventional, Neuro, MSK)
• Previous VA or federal healthcare system experience
• Experience with Cerner or VA EHR platforms

Certifications & Compliance

• ACLS/BLS Certification
• Annual training in:
• Patient Safety, Infection Control, HIPAA, VA Core Values
• MRI and Radiation Safety
• Proof of immunizations and screenings:
• TB, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza

• Job Type: Full-Time, W-2
• Start Date: June 1, 2025
• Contract Duration: 1-year base period + 1 option year

Schedule & Hours

• Standard Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• On-Call Coverage:
• Weekdays: 4:30 PM – 8:00 AM
• Weekends: Friday 4:30 PM – Monday 8:00 AM
• Must be reachable by phone within 15 minutes and on-site within 60 minutes
• Holiday Work: Required on Federal holidays on a rotating schedule
• Overtime: Occasional, based on departmental needs
