Job Description: Lead Restoration Technician at Restoration 1 of Reno-Tahoe

Position: Experienced Restoration Technician

Location: Reno-Tahoe and beyond.

Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Pay: $21-25, plus commission

What You’ll Do:

  • This person will be in charge of the initial contact with the potential client. We take this role very seriously so empathy, patience, and exceptional communication skills are required. This person needs to instill confidence and earn rapport with the client throughout the project. They will be explaining the scope of work, any potential uncertainties, and getting the work-authorization contract. 
  • Act quickly to emergency calls.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to determine the extent of damage.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, building rapport, and keeping clients informed and reassured throughout the process. Confidently explain the steps of the mitigation process and negotiate client approval for the project.
  • Utilize industry-leading techniques and equipment to mitigate loss.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed and communicate effectively with team members and clients. Ensure an accurate scope of work for projects and prepare estimates.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in restoration services is required. Construction knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to handle stressful situations with poise and professionalism. Ability to make a personalized connection with clients.
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and a team player. Ability to develop, learn, and properly apply operation and work procedures.
  • Direct team members on the job site and proactively approach teaching or corrective opportunities. 
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform physical labor as required.


Requirements/Demands:

  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to loud from occasional to frequent.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Lift (constantly) 5-40 lbs., lift (frequently) 20-100 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics).
  • Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects, and work with/around cleaning agents
  • Basic computer and technology skills.
  • Cultural fit to our organization, work ethic, and our values.
  • Reliability and on-time attendance.


Duties:

  • Construction of containment systems and critical barriers
  • Monitoring of environmental controls and negative pressure
  • Operation of air scrubbers and negative air machines
  • Monitoring moisture and humidity
  • Precision demolition
  • Removal of contaminated building materials
  • Post-remediation detailed cleaning and fire odor restoration
  • Perform dry-checks
  • Water damage emergency response and monitoring
  • Mold remediation
  • Biohazard cleanup
  • Set up and monitor drying equipment
  • Apply antimicrobial products
  • Proper use of PPE equipment including respirator, gloves, and goggles.
  • Can work independently to complete jobs
  • On-call
  • Other duties as assigned
