We roast and serve coffees from trusted partners around the world, with a focus on transparency, intentional sourcing, and quality. Based in Gainesville, Florida, we’re a small team committed to creating meaningful connections through coffee, with our community, and with the producers we work with.

This year we opened our first café at 4401 NW 25th Place in Gainesville. It’s a 3,500 square foot space with a full kitchen and coffee bar, built to match the care and quality behind every roast. The food program reflects our backgrounds and values: Hispanic-influenced, locally sourced when possible, and made with better ingredients and better choices. The space brings everything we care about under one roof. Thoughtful design. Great coffee. A food menu that feels personal.

At Resident, we exist to tell the stories of incredible coffee and the people behind it, while creating meaningful, everyday experiences for our guests. We’re looking for someone who’s not just great behind the bar, but thrives in a dynamic, hospitality-focused environment.

This role goes beyond making coffee. As a Barista, you’ll serve coffee, present food, take orders, and help shape the overall guest experience. You’ll be the face of the cafe. A host, a storyteller, and a point of connection between our team and our community.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Preparing and serving espresso drinks, pour overs, teas, and non-coffee beverages
• Running food and drinks to tables, with an eye for timing and presentation
• Taking and entering orders with clarity and warmth
• Creating a welcoming, intentional environment for guests
• Working closely with both back of house and bar teams to ensure smooth service
• Keeping the cafe clean, stocked, and ready at all times
• Communicating coffee info and menu details with curiosity and confidence

What we’re looking for:

• A genuine interest in hospitality and service
• Great energy, self-awareness, and a collaborative mindset
• Ability to multitask with precision and stay calm under pressure
• Willingness to learn and represent our producers partners with respect
• Food service experience is a plus (but not required)

Details:

• Part-time hours / availability
• Weekend availability required. Saturday / Sunday availability required.
• Hourly pay + pooled tips, with access to monthly retail coffee on us, discounts, and ongoing training
• Shifts are 7:30AM - 3:30PM (8hrs)

Compensation:

• $13.00/hr + Tips (tips currently average $8-10/hr)
• $13.50/hr + Tips at 90 day review (after training period is complete)
• $14.00/hr + Tips at 6 month review
