Position Overview
Crit & Crumble is looking for dependable, friendly, and hardworking Café Team Members to join our crew! This is a hands-on position where team members help with all areas of daily café operations—from preparing hot food and baking delicious treats to serving customers and keeping the café clean, stocked, and ready for the next adventure.
Our ideal team member enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in doing things well, and is willing to jump in wherever needed. Previous food service experience is helpful, but a positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are just as important.
Core Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare menu items according to established recipes, portions, and presentation standards.
- Cook food using a flat-top grill and other café equipment.
- Prepare items such as sandwiches, hot foods, pizzas, and other menu offerings.
- Prep ingredients for daily service, including portioning, slicing, measuring, assembling, and stocking.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper holding temperatures.
- Follow proper food handling and food safety procedures.
Baking
- Prepare and bake a variety of café items, which may include cookies, cupcakes, brownies, pastries, pizzas, and other sweet or savory offerings.
- Follow established recipes and baking procedures to maintain consistent quality.
- Portion, package, label, and display baked goods as needed.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate levels of baked goods based on anticipated customer demand.
Customer Service & Register
- Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Take customer orders accurately and answer questions about menu items.
- Operate the point-of-sale/register system and properly process payments.
- Prepare, package, and hand off customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Help create a welcoming, fun, and positive environment for every customer.
Cleaning & Sanitation
- Maintain clean and sanitary food preparation, cooking, baking, and customer areas.
- Wash dishes, utensils, pans, and food preparation equipment.
- Clean and sanitize counters, equipment, tables, floors, and other café areas.
- Complete opening, closing, and routine cleaning responsibilities.
- Properly dispose of trash and maintain organized workspaces.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
Daily Café Operations
- Restock ingredients, packaging, beverages, supplies, and other café necessities.
- Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate when ingredients or supplies are running low.
- Help keep storage, refrigeration, freezer, and preparation areas organized.
- Complete assigned opening and closing duties.
- Assist teammates during busy periods and move between different café responsibilities as needed.

Physical Requirements
This position may require:
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
- Lifting and carrying ingredients, supplies, and equipment.
- Working around hot cooking and baking equipment.
- Safely using kitchen tools and equipment.
- Performing repetitive food preparation and cleaning tasks.
