Position Summary


Special Event Child Care Workers at Redeemer provide a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment for children during church events. They support parents by offering quality care and engaging activities for children, ensuring the church’s standards for safety, training, and spiritual nurturing are upheld.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision and Safety:
  • Provide attentive, age-appropriate supervision to children.
  • Ensure children are accounted for at all times and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Follow all child protection and safety guidelines established by the church.
  • Engagement and Interaction:
  • Assist with age-appropriate activities that encourage spiritual growth, creativity, and fun.
  • Foster a warm, welcoming environment that reflects the love of Christ.
  • Communicate with parents or guardians as needed regarding their child’s experience.
  • Compliance with Policies:
  • Adhere to church policies, including child safety guidelines and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the child care area.
  • Training and Background Checks:
  • Complete mandatory training sessions to prepare for the role and ensure compliance with best practices in child care and safety.
  • For Adults (18 and older): Submit to and pass a background check before serving.


Qualifications

  • Must be at least 14 years old.
  • A genuine love for children and a desire to nurture their spiritual and emotional growth.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Dependable, responsible, and able to handle situations with care and discretion.
  • Must complete required training before serving.


Requirements

  • Member of a like-minded Christian church with a testimony of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • For Workers Ages 14-17: No background check is required but supply a character reference from at least one non-family member with application.
  • For Adults (18 and older): Must submit to and pass a background check before serving.
  • Must complete the required training session(s).
  • Commitment to the church’s mission, values, and child safety standards.
  • Abstain all alcohol and tobacco products for 12 hours prior to any church event.


Schedule:

  • Varies based on church events; workers may be scheduled for midweek events, special gatherings, and conferences.
