This position requires a significant on-site presence with our client in Reno, Nevada. Candidates should be willing to relocate to the Reno area or travel to Reno up to 75% of the time.


We are looking for a self-motivated Project Manager who thrives at the intersection of clients, technical teams, and project execution. You’ll work closely with one of our utility clients in Reno, Nevada, managing transmission and distribution projects and helping keep people, priorities, schedules, budgets, and deliverables aligned.


You’ll serve as a key point of coordination between the client and project teams, building strong working relationships, anticipating project needs, resolving issues, and helping move projects successfully from planning through construction.


A DAY IN THE LIFE MIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Leading and coordinating transmission and distribution projects from planning and design through construction, working closely with client stakeholders, engineering teams, contractors, and other project partners.
  • Managing project scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, deliverables, and resources to support successful project execution.
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for the client, maintaining strong relationships, understanding project needs, communicating status, and proactively addressing issues and changing priorities.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams and facilitate communication between engineering disciplines, client teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting development and administration of contracts, scopes of work, technical specifications, bid packages, and other project documentation.
  • Leading project meetings, track decisions and action items, identify risks and constraints, and drive issues through resolution.
  • Providing technical and project leadership to team members and support the development of less-experienced staff.
  • Maintaining strong professional relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities to expand RDQ's services and support.
  • Supporting proposal development, project scoping, fee development, and identification of future opportunities.
  • Representing RDQ with a high level of professionalism, integrity, responsiveness, and commitment to client service.


WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting electric utility transmission projects, including demonstrated project management or project leadership experience.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to build relationships, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and navigate changing project priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Distribution project experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with PLS-CADD and transmission line design processes preferred.
  • Willing to relocate to the Reno area or travel to Reno up to 75% of the time.

Salary

$115,000 - $150,000 per year
