Responsibilities 

• Provide direct patient support: intake support, standardized screenings, and suicide risk screening; escalate clinical concerns to the provider. 
• Obtain medication histories, complete medication reconciliation, and administer medications, including long-acting injectables, per provider orders and within RN scope. 
• Provide patient and family education on medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care; support refill and prior-authorization workflows. 
• Support psychiatric providers with chart preparation and real-time clinical documentation in the EHR; pend orders, refills, and referrals for provider review. 
• Coordinate care with providers, pharmacies, and patients, including follow-up on labs, appointments, and missed visits. 
• Support the Spravato program, including clinic workflows, REMS compliance, controlled-substance handling, and development of policies and procedures. 
• Prepare patients for each Spravato session: confirm REMS enrollment and orders, obtain baseline vitals and blood pressure, and review pre-treatment instructions. 
• Directly observe Spravato self-administration and monitor patients for at least two hours after dosing for sedation, dissociation, blood pressure changes, and other effects. 
• Educate Spravato patients and families on the treatment course and safety precautions, including no driving until the next day. 
• Support the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) program, including patient preparation, treatment-session support, patient education, and tracking progress through the treatment course. 
• Maintain accurate, timely, HIPAA-compliant, audit-ready documentation, including required REMS records; perform other duties as needed. 

Required and Desired Skills 

• Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Texas (or compact state with multistate privilege) required. 
• Minimum two (2) years of RN experience required. 
• Behavioral health, mental health, or substance abuse disorder experience is strongly preferred. 
• Experience with Spravato (esketamine), ketamine, or other interventional psychiatry treatments preferred. 
• Current BLS certification required. 
• Competency and comfort administering injections, including long-acting injectables. 
• Strong EHR and clinical documentation skills. 
• Organized, reliable, and calm under pressure, with a patient-centered, trauma-informed approach.
