PsychPointe is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our inpatient team as a mid-level provider focused on inpatient rounding, follow-up care, and discharge management. Working in collaboration with our attending psychiatrists and interdisciplinary treatment team, you will manage patients across the full inpatient episode — from admission evaluation through daily rounding, medication management, and a safe, well-coordinated discharge. This role is on-site on our inpatient behavioral health unit, with a weekday schedule plus a rotating weekend and holiday rounding rotation. This position can be structured as a full-time W-2 employee role or as a 1099 independent contractor engagement, depending on fit and preference. Contractor engagements do not include employee benefits, and the contractor is responsible for their own taxes and professional liability insurance.

Responsibilities
- Round daily on assigned patients, completing focused follow-up assessments, mental status examinations, and a progress note for each encounter.
- Perform admission psychiatric evaluations, DSM-5-TR diagnostic formulation, and suicide/violence risk assessments within required timeframes.
- Initiate and adjust psychotropic medications — including long-acting injectables and withdrawal management protocols — under a Texas Prescriptive Authority Agreement, in collaboration with the supervising psychiatrist; Schedule II prescriptions are referred to the supervising physician for issuance.
- Discharge medication reconciliation, discharge prescriptions and summaries, and coordinated follow-up with outpatient and community providers.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation consistent with unit policy and applicable law.
Required and Desired Skills
- Current, unrestricted Texas RN license and APRN recognition with Psychiatric Mental Health population focus, in good standing, required.
- National board certification as PMHNP-BC through ANCC (or equivalent recognized certifying body) required.
- Active DEA registration appropriate to scope
- Inpatient or acute psychiatric experience (inpatient unit, psychiatric emergency services, crisis stabilization, or consult-liaison) strongly preferred; welcome new PMHNP graduates
- Working knowledge of DSM-5-TR, evidence-based psychopharmacology, and Texas mental health law governing voluntary and involuntary inpatient treatment.
- Current BLS certification

$98,000 - $135,000 per year
