Description

IOP Group Therapist (LPC-A)

PsychPointe  |  Independent Contractor | 1099 | Group Facilitation Only

Schedule: Flexible

Location: Rockwall Outpatient / IOP Clinic (on-site) | Compensation: Hourly, based on experience

PsychPointe is seeking a licensed LPC-A to join our outpatient team as an independent contractor to facilitate Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) groups. This is a group-facilitation-only engagement — no individual therapy caseload — built around a flexible schedule you help set. Board-approved clinical supervision toward full LPC licensure is provided if needed, so this role can support your path to independent licensure while you gain hands-on group facilitation experience.

This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement, not an employee position. It does not include employee benefits, and the contractor is responsible for their own taxes and professional liability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate or co-facilitate IOP group therapy sessions using PsychPointe-approved curricula and evidence-based group modalities (e.g., DBT skills groups, CBT groups, relapse prevention, psychoeducational groups).
  • Conduct pre-group screening to confirm appropriateness, informed consent, and group readiness.
  • Complete individualized group progress notes for each participant, tied to the patient’s treatment plan.
  • Establish and uphold group norms, including confidentiality limits in a group setting; manage group dynamics, safety, and clinical risk during sessions.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessment during group sessions and follow PsychPointe’s escalation protocol immediately upon identifying a safety concern.
  • Coordinate group scheduling, attendance tracking, and outcome monitoring with the Clinical Director.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in PsychPointe’s EHR consistent with clinic policy and applicable law.

Required and Desired Skills

  • Active, unrestricted LPC-Associate license issued by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council, in good standing, required.
  • Current, board-approved supervision plan and designated supervisor of record required (or willingness to use PsychPointe’s supervision arrangement).
  • Master’s degree in Counseling or Counseling Psychology from a regionally accredited program; CACREP-accredited program preferred.
  • Group therapy facilitation experience preferred; willingness to complete co-facilitation and observation prior to independent facilitation.
  • Working knowledge of DSM-5-TR and evidence-based group modalities.
  • Current BLS certification
