Description


We are looking for a skilled Structured Cable Technician to join our team. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair structured cabling systems. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing network performance and ensuring reliable connectivity across all business operations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Pull, route, and install Cat5/Cat6 and identify and remove redundant and faulty cabling.
  • Terminate, splice, and test cables using industry-standard tools.
  • Install network racks and patch panels
  • Troubleshoot and repair network faults, dropped lines, and connectivity issues.
  • Label, document, and test cable runs according to industry standards.
  • Operate and manage various power and hand tools and other equipment
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and follow all safety rules
  • Installing and configuring network hardware, such as routers, switches, and access points.
  • Managing data cabling and physical network infrastructure to ensure clean and effective setups.
  • Monitoring network performance and analyzing metrics to prevent or resolve outages.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues in the network environment.
  • Supporting employees with network connectivity problems and providing technical guidance.
  • Configuring firewalls, security settings, and secure VPN setup to protect sensitive data.
  • Collaborating with IT teams to upgrade and expand network infrastructure.
  • Documenting network layouts, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience: 1–3+ years of professional experience in structured cabling or network installation.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications such as CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ are a highly regarded.
  • Skills: 
  • The ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve cable-related issues
  • Familiarity with cloud-based networking solutions.
  • Familiarity with VoIP systems and network integration for telecommunication systems.
  • Experience working in structured data cabling and physical network design.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders/scissor lifts greater than 8ft, work in tight spaces (attics/crawl spaces), and work outdoors when required.
  • License: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
