Under the direction of the President & CEO, the Manager of Capacity Building, Development and Fundraising is responsible for supporting and advancing RaisingHealth Partners’ fundraising and development strategy. This position manages institutional fundraising activities, including prospect research, funder cultivation, grant development, proposal writing, budgets, reporting, and relationship management. The Manager works closely with senior leadership and program staff to identify funding opportunities, develop competitive proposals, maintain strong funder relationships, and support the organization’s overall fundraising goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and manages relationships with current and prospective funders, donors, and other development partners to support RaisingHealth’s fundraising goals.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of funders, prospects, donor activity, solicitations, grants, and related development activities.
- Works with senior leadership to develop and implement annual fundraising and development strategies, including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Researches and identifies new institutional, corporate, foundation, and other funding opportunities aligned with RaisingHealth’s mission and programs.
- Works with senior leadership and program staff to monitor grant deliverables, funding requirements, timelines, budgets, and expenses, and coordinates timely grant reporting and renewals.
- Tracks fundraising activity, prospect pipelines, grant submissions, awards, and revenue goals and provides regular updates to senior leadership.
- Supports the cultivation and stewardship of funders through meetings, communications, site visits, reports, impact updates, and other relationship-building activities.
- Identifies opportunities to increase and diversify RaisingHealth’s funding base and supports strategies to secure new and renewed funding.
- Represents RaisingHealth professionally with funders, donors, community partners, and other external stakeholders and communicates the organization’s mission, impact, and funding priorities effectively.
- Advances RaisingHealth’s mission, philosophy, and commitment to the community by embracing these values and demonstrating them in everyday activities.
- Performs other related development and fundraising duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience of demonstrated proficiency with leading/coordinating public health initiative projects and/or special events. Experience in a non-profit or community-based setting is highly preferred.
- 2 years of experience supervising staff required including professional development, training, mentoring, and supporting staff one-on-one to meet programmatic goals.
- Ability to empathize, advocate and represent the needs of immigrant populations required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or related field or a comparable combination of education and experience required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Computer literate. Excellent command of MS Office Suite especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Language: Candidates with bilingual Spanish or Chinese skills are highly preferred.
