What You'll Be Doing:
As the Coordinator of Food Care, you’ll take charge of our mobile food pantry operations. From ensuring food safety to training and managing our wonderful volunteers, you’ll be the key to keeping things running smoothly and with a smile!
- Organize & Manage Mobile Pantries: You'll coordinate logistics, oversee food distribution, and handle new client intakes.
- Volunteer Supervision: Lead, train, and support our dedicated volunteers. Plus, make sure their hard work is tracked and recognized.
- Nutrition Education: Design creative food info cards and workshops on nutrition and cooking to empower our clients.
- Stocking & Food Safety: Help keep our pantries clean, organized, and fully stocked in compliance with NYC and NYS food safety standards.
- Track Statistics: Collect and maintain data on pantry visits, volunteer activity, and other key performance indicators.
Who We're Looking For:
- Education: A High School diploma/GED is required, but a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Food Safety Expert: Familiarity with NY state and local food safety guidelines and Department of Health protocols is essential.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience coordinating food programs (non-profit experience is a big plus!).
- Volunteer Leader: Experience working with volunteers in an uplifting and positive manner.
- Bilingual: Speaking Spanish or Mandarin is highly preferred, as we serve a diverse community.
- Tech-Savvy: You’ll need solid computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
