Company-provided appointments. Company vehicle. Strong commission opportunity.
Absolute Pest Management is looking for a confident, driven sales professional who knows how to inspect a property, identify a problem, clearly explain the solution, and ask for the business.
This is not a pest-control technician position and it is not an order-taking sales role. You will meet with homeowners and business owners throughout the Austin area to inspect pest, rodent, wildlife, termite, exclusion, and attic-related concerns. You will determine the scope of work, build an accurate proposal, present the solution, and guide the customer toward the right decision.
Our office team will schedule inspection opportunities for you, but we are not looking for someone who simply waits for the next lead. The right person will also build relationships, ask for referrals, connect with property managers and local businesses, attend networking events, and create new opportunities in the community.
We do not believe in high-pressure or fear-based selling. We believe in inspecting thoroughly, educating the customer, recommending only what is needed, and confidently earning the sale.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Conducting detailed inspections at residential and commercial properties
- Identifying pest, termite, rodent, wildlife, exclusion, and attic restoration needs
- Taking measurements, photographs, videos, and detailed inspection notes
- Creating accurate scopes of work and customer proposals
- Presenting solutions clearly and confidently
- Asking for the sale and helping customers move forward
- Following up consistently on open estimates and undecided opportunities
- Maintaining accurate customer, proposal, and follow-up information in our CRM
- Building referral relationships with property managers, real estate professionals, local businesses, and community organizations
- Coordinating with our operations team to ensure sold work can be completed correctly
- Representing Absolute Pest Management professionally in customers’ homes, businesses, and the community
What Success Looks Like
Successful inspectors at Absolute Pest Management:
- Respond quickly to new opportunities
- Arrive prepared, on time, and professionally presented
- Perform thorough inspections instead of rushing to produce an estimate
- Accurately identify the customer’s problem and the work required
- Communicate value without relying on discounts or pressure
- Maintain a consistent follow-up process
- Ask for the business
- Produce accurate scopes that our service and wildlife teams can deliver
- Take ownership of their sales pipeline and results
- Build long-term trust that generates reviews, referrals, and repeat business
You will have freedom in the field and will not be micromanaged. However, this position comes with clear expectations, measurable goals, and accountability for your activity, follow-up, close rate, and sales production.
The Right Person for This Role
Pest-control experience is helpful, but sales ability, communication skills, and personal drive are more important. We can teach the technical side of pest and wildlife control. We need someone who is comfortable meeting people, identifying needs, presenting solutions, handling objections, and closing business.
Experience in any of the following industries may be a strong fit:
- Home-service sales
- Pest control or wildlife control
- Roofing, HVAC, plumbing, foundation, or restoration sales
- Automotive sales
- Construction or remodeling
- Insurance or property-related sales
- In-home or outside consultative sales
Qualifications
- Previous success in outside sales, in-home sales, or consultative sales
- Strong communication, listening, and presentation skills
- Comfortable asking for the sale and following up after the appointment
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Organized and comfortable managing multiple leads and estimates
- Comfortable using an iPad, CRM, email, text messaging, and digital estimating tools
- Comfortable safely accessing attics, crawl spaces, rooflines, and other inspection areas, with reasonable accommodation
- Willing to work outdoors and in Texas heat when inspections require it
- Valid Texas driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
- Able to pass a background check
- Willing to obtain all required pest-control licensing; training is provided
This Position May Not Be the Right Fit If You
- Need someone constantly reminding you to follow up
- Are uncomfortable asking a customer to make a decision
- Prefer to wait for leads rather than create opportunities
- Avoid difficult conversations or objections
- Regularly leave estimates unfinished or customer messages unanswered
- Are looking for a technician route rather than a sales position
- Are unwilling to inspect attics, crawl spaces, or exterior areas
What Absolute Pest Management Provides
- Competitive base compensation or draw plus commission
- Company-provided inspection opportunities
- Company vehicle for business use
- Company-issued iPad and sales technology
- Uniforms and inspection equipment
- Technical, licensing, product, and sales training
- Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
- Monday-through-Friday schedule with occasional Saturdays
- Support from an experienced office, service, wildlife, and management team
- Opportunities for advancement as the company continues to grow
- The freedom to manage your territory without constant micromanagement
