Position: Per Diem Outpatient Therapist
Location: Remote, In Wilton schools, and/or office based (Maine-based applicants only)

Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing diagnostic tools such as ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding to determine treatment needs.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, and other evidence-based approaches.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster patient engagement and motivation for change.
- Document clinical notes accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain detailed medical records using appropriate medical terminology.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management and develop comprehensive care plans.
- Conduct intake assessments and facilitate referrals for inpatient or outpatient services as needed.
- Engage in clinical research activities when applicable and contribute to data collection efforts related to patient outcomes.
- Stay current with best practices in behavioral health, social work, psychopharmacology, special education, and related fields to enhance service quality.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related field.
- Valid licensure or certification relevant to outpatient mental health practice (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
- Proven experience in outpatient clinical settings providing psychotherapy or counseling services.
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders including PTSD, autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, chronic pain conditions, and gender issues.
- Proficiency with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for documentation purposes.
- Experience with telehealth platforms is preferred; ability to adapt therapy sessions for virtual delivery is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medical documentation standards required for accurate recordkeeping.
- Ability to manage crisis situations effectively while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
