Description

Rae of Hope is hiring a Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) for our Section 65 Home and Community Treatment (HCT) program. You’ll work alongside a clinician to provide individualized support to children and their caregivers in their homes and communities.

We’re looking for someone who is patient, dependable, and able to connect with families during challenging moments. Someone who notices small steps forward, stays curious when things get hard, and helps caregivers feel supported as they learn new ways to respond.

What you’ll do

  • Work with the HCT clinician to carry out each child’s individualized treatment plan.
  • Help children practice emotional regulation, communication, coping, social, and daily living skills.
  • Support caregivers through modeling, coaching, and practicing strategies together during everyday routines.
  • Help families recognize patterns, respond to challenging behaviors, and strengthen relationships.
  • Follow individualized safety and crisis plans and communicate concerns promptly to the clinician or supervisor.
  • Track progress toward treatment goals and share observations with the treatment team.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and required training.
  • Complete accurate, timely documentation in Alleva at the end of each service.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and respectful communication.

What we’re looking for

  • Ability to meet Maine’s Section 65 HCT BHP education, certification, and training requirements.
  • Current BHP certification preferred; applicants needing certification may be considered based on eligibility.
  • Experience working with children and families preferred, particularly those experiencing trauma, emotional distress, or behavioral challenges.
  • Willingness to work actively with both the child and caregivers.
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to remain calm, accept feedback, and work collaboratively with a clinician.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care that builds on family strengths.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to homes and community settings.
  • Availability that aligns with family needs, including [afternoon/evening hours, if applicable].
  • Ability to complete required background checks and training.
