The Bay’s Workforce Development Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Bay’s Lincoln Gap Year program, a program for 18-24 year olds to gain the knowledge, skills, and relationships necessary to get a job, go to college, or start a business. The Program Manager for the Gap Year Program is a multifaceted leadership position responsible for orchestrating the comprehensive planning, scheduling, and execution of the program's curriculum, events, and learning activities. This individual will oversee the day-to-day operations, continuously seeking improvements in program processes and maintaining an entrepreneurial spirit. The Program Manager will manage ongoing projects, external relationships, and foster robust interpersonal connections with stakeholders and participants.


Responsibilities: Program Management

  • Ensures that the day-to-day operations of workforce development programs run smoothly and meet desired program outcomes;
  • Plans the program year schedule and lead the organization of all program events, workshops, career fairs, networking sessions, etc;
  • Works closely with stakeholders and partners to plan field trips, workshops, and other experiential activities to enrich the program;
  • Assist with development and coordination of the process for Gap Year internships, including the partner onboarding, hiring process for partners, and other elements related to successful internships for both youth and employers. 
  • Assists with the development of program goals and outcomes and implementation of program evaluations, including systems, processes, and instruments for monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness, outcomes, and impact.
  • Assists with the development and execution of recruitment planning.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and iterates on the curriculum and processes based on participant feedback and evolving needs.

Relationship Management 

  • Builds and maintains relationships with educational institutions, industry partners, and other stakeholders to enhance program offerings through partnerships and sponsorships to provide additional resources and opportunities for youth participants. 
  • Assists with development of sponsorship packages and offerings that solve problems for program partners and sponsors

Must Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years in program management and coordination
  • Experience with sponsorship development and fundraising
  • Experience working with at-risk youth 
  • Must be highly relational and youth-focused 
  • Must work as a team player to achieve organizational goals
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to dream differently 
  • Cultural competence and understanding of the youth served by The Bay and its programs
