R&M Equipment Rentals is searching for a qualified truck driver with class A CDL for our Huntsville (Mooresville), AL location. Knowledge of loading and unloading construction equipment is required. This job is for deliveries and pickups in Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi. Must be willing to work overtime and some weekends.

Job Requirements:

• 2 years minimum experience hauling heavy equipment REQUIRED
• 2+ years of experience as a Class A CDL truck driver.
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Plan and follow optimal routes, considering oversized load restrictions, clearance requirements and weight limits
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any maintenance needs to the fleet department
• Maintain accurate logbooks and paperwork, adhering to all safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers site supervisors and other team members
• Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies and DOT regulations
• Report any incidents or accidents to the appropriate personnel
• Maintain a great attitude toward work
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required

Skills & Qualifications:

• Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements (e.g. hazardous materials, large vehicle, etc.)
• Experience transporting heavy equipment or oversized loads
• Knowledge and ability to safely secure loads using proper techniques
• Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety protocols
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, climbing, reaching and sitting for long periods of time
• Excellent focus and attention to detail

History of working with different forms of heavy equipment, specifically cranes, excavators, forklifts and aerial lifts is a plus. This is a fast-paced environment. Being on a rotating on-call list is mandatory. This is a key position in our growing company.
