As a member of the Queerchata team, you create experiences that inspire the dance and queer communities. You prioritize building with intention, putting yourself in the shoes of our students, and dreaming up experiences that are welcoming, educational, and center joy and community.

Description

In this role, you’ll help shape the culture in our Queerchata studio classes. You care deeply about understanding the unique needs of our students and can adapt your teaching to different levels and abilities. You’re thoughtful, communicate effectively, and care deeply about creating welcoming queer dance spaces. 


Responsibilities

  • Teach weekly classes, 90-minutes each
  • Plan class material utilizing the Queerchata method and syllabus
  • Manage a Telegram chat for students
  • Be a thoughtful leader, adapting to the needs and abilities of students
  • Attend Instructor onboarding, training, and monthly instructor calls (virtual)
  • Collaborate with instructors, discuss challenges and share ideas


Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills inside and outside the classroom, including replying to emails in a timely manner
  • Clear understanding of personal availability and consistent follow-through on all organizational commitments
  • A genuine appreciation for the unique attributes of all dancers in the studio, giving everyone the space to be who they are
  • Ability to break down and explain advanced dance concepts clearly to any student


Compensation

Ranges from $50 - $100 per class. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
