As a member of the Queerchata Event Management team, you create experiences that inspire the dance and queer communities. You prioritize building with intention, putting yourself in the shoes of our members, and dreaming up experiences that are welcoming, educational, and center joy and community.

About Queerchata

Queerchata was founded in Los Angeles in 2021 and is now the fastest-growing queer dance movement in North America, with classes in seven cities and more coming soon. We are revolutionizing the dance world by degendering dance and creating a supportive, joyous space for queer people to connect, learn, and express their true selves.

Description

Operational excellence is at the core of what we do. In this role, you will leverage your event management skills to drive projects forward. Your attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to execute, will play a key role in helping Queerchata events thrive. 


Responsibilities

  • You’ll be the point person and lead day-of operations for our Queerchata Class & Social, one of our most attended events
  • Develop a network of partners and vendors that align with our values
  • Partner with door staff, DJs, instructors, and photographers to ensure that events run smoothly
  • Collaborate with our team of program managers to execute top-tier events
  • Support attendees and answer questions


Time Commitment

This is an independent contractor position and will require 8 hours per event.

  • 5 hours: Event day (set up, break down, and event time)
  • 2 hours: Canvassing | Distributing flyers ahead of the event
  • 1 hour: Prep, communicating with the team, answering emails, etc.

Salary

$18 - $20 per hour
